A crowd is waiting outside the door of room at at San Diego Comic Con International 2014. Making Comics Worldwide, the nonprofit I run, is hosting a panel titled “Uniting The Worldwide #Makecomics Community” featuring a premiere line-up of guests including Mark Waid, Christina Blanch, Palle Schmidt, Andy Schmidt, Jim Zub, and Rachel Beck. These are titans in the comic industry and they are sitting down on a panel I am moderating to discuss Twitter. Specifically they are talking about the comic making community that uses the Twitter hashtag “#Makecomics” to communicate online.
