Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #17: Reimagine the Temples
The fear I had when choosing this theme for this week was that all of the builds would be large rectangles in the sky. Thankfully, that didn't happen for most of the builds and this build is a perfect example! This skyscraper has an awesome shape (I don't know whether to call it triangular or diamond shaped) that is original and creative! One of the neat parts of this build is also the billboard on the side and the small trees on the roof. The inside looks very modern, fitting with the outside of the build, and loved the detail of the reflecting villagers (I believe he said in his post it was villagers named Dinnerbone below the other villagers?) and the waterfalls. Great build!
A completely different style that surprised me but I really liked it, along with the other judges. Great block choice in this build, not many people will try to include bricks there but it really worked this time around! The entrance was also very grand and elegant! The interior also looked great. The stairways were neat, especially the ones with glass panes and dark oak planks. The whole build and the style just flowed together nicely. Great job!
The outside of this build also stood up with the others. It wasn't a rectangle and had a good shape to it and like first place, it had a neat garden on the roof. However, the one thing that set it apart from first and second place was the interior which seemed a little bit bare compared to the first and second place builds. However, it was still a fantastic build!
Honourable mentions
You're playing the game and you come across a desert. At first, it seems bare but then you see it… a temple half buried in the sand… oh.
This week we're giving the temples an upgrade! Not saying that I don't like the ones we have now but after a while, seeing the same structure over and over again gets boring. Let's spice it up a bit!
Inspiration
Desert temple-Don't copy this design
Thanks to /u/Akaed for this challenge!
Easy Mode: Re-create either a jungle temple or a desert temple. They have to be built in their appropriate biome and have to have a loot room and traps as well. People who like redstone, show us the most evil contraptions you can come up with!
NOTE: It's only the jungle and desert temple we're recreating. Not the woondland mansion, villages, etc.
Hard Mode: Again, only jungle and desert temples but this time you must build both and it must be using only the materials that are used in the real ones. Anything related to redstone can be used in either of these temples. No restrictions on that. Torches are also allowed
So (any stairs and slabs of these blocks are allowed):
Desert temple:
Regular Sandstone (any type)
Orange and blue hardened clay
Jungle temple
Cobblestone and mossy cobblestone (all variants as well, ex: stairs, slabs, walls)
Chiselled stone bricks
Title of submission
Easy or hard mode
