Breaking a cheater’s record [Longest uninterrupted boat ride – 16,000,000 blocks]
So a while ago you were all stirred up by the likes of a man going by the names of /u/SonOfShoop also known as FitMC or Fit ingame.
He currently holds the record for the longest boat journey in Minecraft, lasting around 7,000,000 blocks.
The thing about this "record" is that he cheated to get there. Rather than weighing down the 'W' key with coins as he said he did, he used a client called Impact (a hacked client for PvP and other general cheating) and turned off the GUI while turning on AutoWalk. AutoWalk does exactly what it says on the tin: allows you to walk in any given direction without any input required from the keyboard or player besides an initial button press.
Seeing how he gained a couple thousand subscribers and had his stream break over 2,000,000 views while at the same time not putting his record under a "TAS" (Tool assisted speedrun/wr) category and being credited for holding the record made me feel wrong. I speedrun as a hobby and can't stand seeing a WR being held by someone who just used a client to do the work for him.
On Saturday, January 7, I'll be embarking on my own boat journey in a superflat world from -29,999,998 to -14,000,002 to break his record and set my own. I'll be streaming on youtube at my channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/ImportedSocks and I'll have music playing on WinAmp in the background. I'll be opening the game and showing F3 at all times on stream as to prevent any cheating whatsoever on my part. The 'W' key will be held down by some electrician's tape while I'm AFK and I'll periodically jump on to read chat.
See you there.
(P.S. Eat your heart out, Fit. Can't wait to see what kind of rant video you'll do when you see the record broken. <3)
