Mojang, Please Don’t Remove Bow Boosting

After the controversial change to observers (which I completely understand, but that's beside the point), u/poswar pointed out that Mojang is actually planning to 'fix' bow boosting.

When you bow boost while flying with elytra you can stay in the air forever at the cost of health. You basically have to shoot yourself with a punch 2 bow while gliding and the knockback will shoot you upwards, allowing you to fly infinitely. Bow boosting takes a lot of practice to master and raises Minecraft's (relatively low) skill ceiling, which is always a healthy thing in any game.

Bow boosting is a lot like rocket jumping in the game Team Fortress 2. It was initially a random thing that happened because of the way the game worked, but the community loved it and the devs rolled with it and embraced it and now it's a core feature in the game.

Please Mojang, see bow boosting as a feature instead of a bug because it's so much fun! If you wanna change it however, because I do agree that it is OP at the moment, nerf it instead of removing it. My suggestion is that arrows you shoot to hit yourself will take extra durability from the elytra, possibly ignoring the unbreaking enchantment.
