The ‘Deathprint’ Of Energy Grapples With The Powers Of Regulation

The rarely-discussed energy cost externality is the deathprint, or the number of people killed per kWh produced. Like the carbon footprint, coal has the largest deathprint while nuclear has the smallest. These vague eventually-someone-has-to-pay kind of costs are hard to put a value on because they are mainly associated human health and environmental effects. But strong regulations and oversight decrease the deathprint dramatically, as can be seen in the lower deathprints in the U.S. versus the world for coal, hydro and nuclear.

Incent Blockchain Platform Launches ‘Decentralized’ Exchange-Backed Crowdfund ICO

Blockchain-based loyalty platform Incent, which has been created by crypto-business hub BitScan, is launching its crowdfund Initial Coin Offering (ICO) alongside OpenLedger’s ‘decentralized conglomerate’ (DC). The ICO, which commenced today (October 1) and runs until November 30, has collected over $250,000 from pre-ICO ‘Angel’ investors.
