Feliz cumpleaños, Santo: El doodle de Google celebra al luchador mexicano
¡Feliz cumpleaños, Santo!
Google celebra esta viernes el que sería el cumpleaños 99 del icónico luchador y actor Mexicano Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, quien dio vida al enmascarado de plata.
Además de ser quien popularizó la lucha libre en el mundo, Guzmán Huerta “se convirtió en un ícono cultural, que representaba la justicia y la lucha contra el mal”, de acuerdo con el blog del buscador.
Rodolfo Guzmán (1917-1984) nació en el estado de Hidalgo, pero vivió desde su infancia temprana en el barrio de Tepito, en la Ciudad de México. Fue en 1942 cuando se unió a un equipo de luchadores con vestimentas plateadas y eligió el sobrenombre de Santo.

Su carrera en el cuadrilátero duró casi cuatro décadas durante las cuales también apareció en películas e historietas, lo que lo proyectó a nivel internacional. Ha sido referido como “una leyenda” y como uno de los luchadores más populares de México.
El Santo, que jamás reveló su rostro en público, murió de un infarto en febrero de 1984. Por petición suya, fue enterrado con su icónica máscara plateada.
El doodle está visible en los buscadores de todo el continente americano, excepto Canadá, así como en varios países de Asia, Europa y África.
