Apple’s Tax Defense Seems Flawed

The European Commission has ruled that member states of the EU can’t grant special tax status to select companies. The ruling negates Apple’s lucrative arrangement with Ireland, and means that Apple now owes about $14.5 billion (USD) in back taxes. Apple’s response was a statement that sounds ominously like a threat, claiming, “It will have a profound and harmful effect on investment and job creation in Europe.”

Samsung Brings Quantum Dot Technology To New Family Of Gorgeous Curved Gaming Displays

The IFA expo is not yet underway in Berlin, but Samsung is getting a head start anyway and announcing a trio of new, high-end Quantum Dot desktop displays before the show begins. Samsung will formally introduce the upcoming CFG70 (24” and 27” models) and CF791 (34”) displays at its IFA press conference, which is scheduled to take place September 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. inside the Messe Berlin event center’s City Cube Hall.
