El presidente ejecutivo de Tesla Motors Inc, Elon Musk, anunció que la empresa ofrecerá paquetes de baterías con un mejor desempeño para sus vehículos modelos S y X, lo que aumentará la autonomía y permitirá una aceleración mucho más rápida de sus automotores.
El nuevo paquete de 100 kilovatios hora permitirá versiones de alta gama de los modelo sedan S, llamado P 100D, que serán los autos con la aceleración más rápida en producción, dijo la automotriz de Silicon Valley.
"Estos son hitos muy significativos y creo que ayudarán a convencer a la gente del mundo de que la electricidad es el futuro", dijo Musk en una conferencia telefónica con periodistas.
La nueva batería amplía la autonomía de la versión del modelo S a más de 300 millas (482.8 kilómetros), dijo Tesla. Según Musk, si el tiempo no es muy caluroso un conductor podría ir de San Francisco a Los Ángeles sin necesidad de reponer combustible.

Harambe Memes Drive The Cincinnati Zoo Off Social Media
Telling the Internet to cool it with the Harambe memes is equivalent to throwing gasoline on a fire. Yet, that is what Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard did on Monday, and within 24 hours, the Zoo had to shutter their social media accounts because they were drowning in a deluge of Harambe jokes. While deleting their accounts seems extreme, under the circumstances it was the Cincinnati Zoo’s best course of action.
