The hits just keep on coming for solar stocks, the latest being SunPower’s deeply disappointing guidance–the company now expects an operating loss of $175 million in 2016 and was predicting a $50 profit in May–given after 2Q earnings. As the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrials and Nasdaq Composite all posted record closes Thursday, it’s striking that the Guggenheim Solar ETF (TAN) has declined 30.1% thus far in 2016, and, even more tellingly, has fallen 62.0% since August 2011.
