How Brands Are Learning To Engage The Silicon Valley Latino Ecosystem

Prior to the last presidential election cycle, I had the opportunity to assist a White House sponsored initiative to engage and empower Latino leaders nationwide. The project took the White House on the road to more than a dozen different cities that provided insight and perspectives on opportunities for Latino leadership at the local level.  As I learned back then, the Silicon Valley perspective is special. It’s one, in fact, that might help many organizations — not just government players — to rethink their Latino engagement strategy.

Would anybody be interested in my one-time event idea?

So, was just playing MC with the girlfriend trying to speedrun the enderdragon when I had an idea, I have the technical know-how to configure it all, it's just I don't want to go through all the effort if nobody is going to enjoy it.

Basically, my idea is as such:-

  1. At a specific date and time, preannounced a week or so in advance, everyone loads up my website and "generates" a server address1
  2. Everyone connects to their own server (Hosted by me), and can chat with everyone else but cannot move/walk/break stuff.
  3. Around fifteen minutes later, everyone's limitation of moving and breaking stuff is removed, and everyone plays survival on their own dedicated server. Every single user will have the same seed, however, meaning that the game will be completely fair
  4. All achievements notifications (Like "Getting Wood" and more importantly, "The End.") are synchronised between servers, allowing you to monitor other people's progress
  5. At the end, once everyone is done playing, all the worlds become available for download so that you can see your path/other people's path

Footnotes:

  1. This would probably be a whole dedicated VPS per user, with their own dedicated IP. This is because Amazon AWS is cheap and free for 1500 hours per month.

Does this sound any fun what-so-ever? If not, I'm probably still going to make it (Because it sounds fun to make & play for me, with friends), I just won't make it public.
