How To Embrace Disruptive Technologies And Succeed

All too often as a startup investor, I hear the term “disruptive technology” from an entrepreneur, played like a trump card that should override any other potential business qualms. In fact, most investors avoid disruptive technologies as extremely risky, with long waits for a payback. They can point to the many examples of innovative technologies that have failed in the marketplace.

Nostalgia- First MP Base, Recreated.

Back in 2012, my friend and I joined our first multiplayer Minecraft server, running version 1.2.5. We played on the server for days on end, creating a big base that, at the time, we though was pretty cool. Here is that base: [IMGUR]: http://ift.tt/2aDXVbU

Unfortunately, shortly after that photo was taken, the base was COMPLETELY destroyed by griefers. We moved around to a few other bases around the map after that, but we never returned to that plot of land on a permanent basis. The server shut down in early 2013, and we never heard of it or the Admin ever again.

Recently though, my friend and I were eeling inspired by looking at some old screenshots, so we decided to remake the entire base, misplaced blocks and all, in 1.7.5. It took a few hours to make what we had taken weeks to create earlier. And, well, here it is, in all its glorified ugliness: [IMGUR]: http://ift.tt/2aFUq1y

This may not be that cool to others, but I wanted to share our little adventure with the community.

Sidenote: If anyone knows of a Minecraft player with the username RedBackDanno, please let me know, he was the admin and I would love to get in contact with him again.
