Warp drives, wormholes and faster than light spacecraft remain speculative concepts. NASA engineer Bruce Wiegmann, however, is investigating the possibility of flying to the stars using a propulsion system that resembles a giant broken umbrella or wiry jellyfish.

First the US and China announced a series of actions to reduce climate pollution, and then the world agreed to a landmark pact in Paris — with, for the first time, all nations contributing. Clean energy prices are dropping, zero-carbon power is setting records, and people around the world are hard at work on policies that will ensure the Paris pledges are met — and laying the groundwork for even greater ambition in the next round of commitments, in 2020. Others are offering new ideas or constructive criticism on what approaches will work best.

Apple AirPods: Trademark Filing Hints At A Wireless Headphones Product

In two months, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 7 and the biggest change might be the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. If that rumor is true, then iPhone 7 buyers may have to get used to Lightning-powered or Bluetooth headphones. Since Apple has always been shipping headphones with iPhones, the iPhone 7 is likely going to come with EarPods powered by a Lightning connection. And there is a rumor that Apple will sell separate Bluetooth headphones product called “AirPods” to coincide with the iPhone 7 launch. Recently a trademark filing surfaced that supports the rumor that Apple is working on the separate “AirPods” product.

La evolución de Nintendo a través de sus consolas y sus números

Las consolas de videojuegos nos han acompañado durante las últimas décadas, adaptándose a los tiempos e introduciéndonos en otros mundos con personajes icónicos que nos ha tenido adheridos al televisor, como Mario Bros.

Sin duda una de las tecnológicas más importantes en los últimos años es Nintendo, japonesa que creó el universo de Mario Bros., Donkey Kong y que nos permitió pelear en arenas con nuestros Pokémones.

La semana pasada la compañía anunció el regreso de la clásica consola Nintendo Entertainment System, mejor conocida como NES, en una versión mini que será puesta a la venta el próximo 11 de noviembre, incluido México.

Aquí te dejamos un recuento de las consolas de mesa más significativas de la compañía:

1. NES (1983)

Nintendo lanzó al mercado en 1983 esta consola, que se convirtió en un éxito instantáneo gracias a juegos como Super Mario Bros y Zelda, de acuerdo con el sitio web de la firma.

Para 1988, la biblioteca de juegos de la consola había crecido hasta 65 títulos. Uno de los más recordados es Duck Hunt, con el que se introdujo la pistola inalámbrica "Zapper".

A marzo de 2016, Nintendo había logrado colocar 61.91 millones de unidades y 500 millones de juegos.

Los resultados trimestrales de Microsoft crecen gracias a su negocio en la nube

Microsoft Corp reportó una una ganancia neta de 3,120 millones de dólares (mdd), o 0.39 dólares por acción para el cuarto trimestre fiscal que terminó el 30 de junio, lo que se compara con una pérdida de 3,200 mdd, o 0.40 dólares por título, respecto al mismo periodo del año anterior.

La empresa reportó un alza de un 2.1% de sus ventas ajustadas, gracias a que el crecimiento de su negocio de computación en nube ayudó a contrarrestar la debilidad del mercado de computadoras personales.

Las ventas ajustadas de Microsoft subieron a 22,600 mdd desde 22,180mdd.
