J.P. This is the question that consumed Glenn Reid of Marathon Laundry—a former Apple employee who worked with Steve Jobs for six years. Five years and seven prototypes later, the tech visionary launched his startup’s first product—an internet-connected combination washer and dryer at the CES this month. While the idea of having a single washing and drying device is by no means new, a ventless dryer combined with a washer with the performance of separate dryers is first-of-kind. Priced at $1,200, which is the standard pricing for combination washer and dryer, Reid seeks to change electrical appliances with Marathon Laundry the way Tesla has changed cars.

No hace mucho tiempo que Reddit compró Alien Blue para utilizar su comunidad en iOS, dando a entender a la gente que se estaban tomando en cuenta la posibilidad de llegar a la plataforma móvil, también lo comentamos nosotros en el mes de diciembre, aunque lo cierto es que tampoco sucedió nada mucho después. Eso al menos hasta hace unos pocos días, cuando apareció de nuevo un comunicado de Reddit afirmando que la empresa estaba trabajando en una aplicación para Android.
De hecho parece que la misma herramienta alcanzó ese día la fase beta y que la aplicación para iOS no estaba en un desarrollo muy lejano a la de Android. Para los que no sepáis de que va el tema, Reddit es uno de los sitios más visitados de la red, un agregador de noticias en el que cualquier usuario puede añadir un enlace con la suya. Eso sí, bien es cierto que la interfaz parece más bien del siglo XX.
Es bastante probable que os asombre el hecho de que la aplicación vaya estar más cuidada que el propio portal oficial, pero el hecho es que es así. Cuenta con el agregador de noticias, mostrándonos en la vista principal el feed de noticias al lado del botón que nos permitirá compartir aquello que deseemos, algo que ya os han explicado también desde Xataka.
En la parte superior de la barra podremos entrar a los temas que estamos siguiendo, realizar búsquedas, ver las noticias populares, acceder a opciones de perfil, ordenar los contenidos según el criterio que queramos usar o acceder a los ajustes, entre otras tantas muchas cosas. Tendremos la opción de poder guardar una noticia en los favoritos o compartirla a través de Facebook, WhatsApp y otras aplicaciones.
Otras opciones disponibles serán la de valorar la noticia y ver los comentarios que formulan los otros usuarios sobre ellas, incluso con la posibilidad de poder enviar mensajes privados a otros usuarios de Reddit. De momento todo ello sólo lo podréis probar con clientes no oficiales como los que os hemos propuesto en otras ocasiones.
Una de las utilidades más curiosas de esta aplicación es la posibilidad de utilizar el modo noche, cambiando la interfaz de Reddit por completo a negro, permitiendo la posibilidad de desactivar la carga de imágenes previas y pudiendo ver los contenidos para adultos.
