‘The Division’ Beta Starts Today On Xbox One, Tommorow On PC And PS4

For anyone who missed a post-blizzard glimpse of a disaster-ravaged New York last weekend, you’ve got another chance this weekend thanks to Ubisoft. We’re about to get our first large-scale glimpse into The Division, the company’s post-apocalyptic third-person MMO about teams of soldiers trying to do their best to maintain order in a nightmarish New York while getting some sweet loot in the process. Or maybe it’s the other way around. The closed beta starts today, January 28th, on Xbox One, and tomorrow on PC and PS4.

(Almost) Everything You Need To Know About Getting A Foreign Visa

Almost a year ago one of my relatives booked a 91-day round trip cruise and began extensive planning and preparation for the trip. She just sailed from Rotterdam to Singapore with stops in many venues along the route including three in India. Because she had traveled extensively within India in the past she decided that she would remain on-board when docking there because of the distance and hassle to get from the ship to these cities.

Data Visualization: Pretty Pictures Ain’t Analytics

Yes, I said it!  So many of you are going gaga by visualizations; so blinded you forget the real reason for the work:  Business Value.  Some of you might even participate in contests of who can make the prettiest visualization.  Some popular Data Science blogs even have a visual of the month section.  Well, after all, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. That may be true of landscapes or love interests, but the visualizations data scientists produce for business people often aren’t worth the battery power it takes to display them on an iPad.

iPad Pro can update the firmware of accessories through Smart Connector in latest iOS 9.3 beta

Apple sent out the second public beta of iOS 9.3 to interested testers yesterday, and already a new feature has surfaced in this release.

It turns out that the iPad Pro can now update the firmware of your accessories, using the Smart Connector. Two different sources have confirmed that this already works for the Logitech Create iPad Keyboard, when attached to the iPad Pro through the tablet’s Smart Connector. The update has thankfully fixed issues having to do with keyboard lag as well as missed keystrokes.

The message you can see in the image above shows up, and then if you hit Update, a few minutes later the process will be complete. While it’s happening, you’ll see an indication of what percentage has been already achieved. Hopefully the incredibly generic update prompt captured by the screenshot above will be changed to something more specific (which will include the name of the accessory in question) before iOS 9.3 is finalized. One important thing to note is that while your accessory is being updated in this manner, you won’t be able to use it at all.
