Skype for Android now lets you schedule calls in Outlook, open Office documents directly

Skype has outed a new update for its Android app today, which brings with it two new features.

First off, you can now easily schedule Skype calls in Outlook, straight from Skype (see the screenshot on the left below). You just tap on the person you want to schedule the call with, and then through the menu in the upper-right corner choose the adequate option. After you’ve created the event, you can send an invite to the person you want to talk to. The good news is that this works with other calendar apps too, not just Microsoft’s Outlook.

Next up, Skype for Android is now integrated with Microsoft’s Office apps for Google’s platform. So if you have Word, Excel, and PowerPoint installed, when you receive a document through Skype you’ll be able to directly open it in the relevant app with one single tap. And if you don’t have the Office apps installed already, tapping on such a file will give you instructions on how to get them. So basically this is just a way for Microsoft to push its other apps to users of Skype. And this new feature seems to simply forgo showing you the usual Android app selector when you tap on an Office file.

Anyway, the updated version of Skype should be already available in the Google Play Store.

Este pack contiene más de 800 iconos y 12 fondos de pantalla, además también es compatible con Muzei y nos ofrecen un rediseño del pack con tonos oscuros, llamado Cygnus Black.

Seguimos con temática Material Design con Glim, un pack de iconos que sigue las líneas de diseño de Google ofreciéndonos una paleta de colores mucho más intensa con un diseño plano. Este paquete trae más de 1.500 iconos con la peculiaridad de que contiene diferentes variantes de color para las aplicaciones.

Se puede encontrar de manera gratuita, aunque hay una versión de pago con más de 2500 iconos.

Si quieres tener cierta uniformidad en la forma de tus iconos, este pack es para ti. Podemos encontrar una versión gratuita y otra de donación con más iconos y fondos de pantalla.

Otro pack minimalista que actualmente solo cuenta con 90 iconos, aunque su desarrollador nos promete que está creando más y está abierto a escuchar las peticiones de los usuarios, unos iconos muy elegantes en color blanco que solo muestran el contorno de la imagen. Sin duda una muy buena opción si quieres mantener de una manera simple la apariencia de tu Android.

Volviendo al Material Design, tenemos este paquete con más de 750 iconos de alta resolución con la paleta de colores proporcionada por Google en su línea de diseño, también incluye variantes de color para algunos iconos y algunos fondos de pantalla de vista aérea que tanto se han puesto de moda, también compatibles con Muzei.

Rumor says HTC One M10 won’t be unveiled at MWC, but sometime in March

As we get closer and closer to MWC, we’ve seen a lot of leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S7 and even the LG G5. Both of these smartphones are expected to become official at MWC, so that makes sense. However, HTC’s successor to the One M9 from last year has been completely absent from the rumors.

And now we may have found out why. It turns out that the Taiwanese company might not unveil the One M10 at MWC, instead opting to hold a dedicated event for it sometime in March. The phone should become available in April.

HTC did reportedly plan to out the M10 at MWC, but was forced to delay the introduction after management returned quite a few prototypes to the design team. With the handset set to receive an entirely new design, its launch had to be postponed, even if not by much.

The One M10 is allegedly going to feature a fingerprint scanner, a 23 MP rear camera, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 at the helm, and a 3,000 mAh battery. In a first for HTC, it will also be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

Unfortunately this is nothing but an unconfirmed rumor at this point, so you really shouldn’t take it for granted. Hopefully we’ll get some confirmation of these details in the future.
