NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1, analizamos la mejor tablet para gamers

Hace un tiempo ya os dimos a conocer la que era la tablet por excelencia para jugar a videojuegos, la NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet. Una tablet de pequeño formato que ya no sólo era perfecta para disfrutar del mundo gaming, sino que también se convirtió a nuestro juicio, en una de las mejores tabletas –por no decir la mejor– del año.

Ahora es el turno de compartir con vosotros el análisis del nuevo modelo, la NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1, la cual mantiene la misma esencia que su predecesora. Potencia suficiente para correr juegos, un rendimiento excelente, pequeño formato y un montón de accesorios para que nuestra experiencia gamer sea la más completa.

Características y especificaciones técnicas

En primer lugar y como siempre se ha dicho, si algo funciona, no lo cambies. Eso es lo que han debido de pensar al fabricar este dispositivo, el cual no difiere estéticamente de su predecesor. Nos encontramos con una tablet fabricada en plástico que si bien nos ha gustado mucho en líneas generales, tenemos que remarcar que su parte trasera se ensucia con bastante facilidad. Por lo demás, tenemos unas medidas de 22 cm x 12 cm x 9,2 mm y un peso de 390 gramos.

En su interior, un procesador NVIDIA Tegra K1, que incluye una GPU NVIDIA Kepler de 192 núcleos y una CPU de cuatro núcleos a 2,2 GHz. Todo ello acompañado de 2 GB de memoria RAM, 16/32 GB de almacenamiento ampliables mediante microSD y una atería de 5.500 mAh que pese a no ser algo grave, nos hubiera gustado que tuviera una cifra algo mayor.

Cómo os podréis imaginar, la NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 puede con todo, ya sean aplicaciones pesadas o los juegos más exigentes, y es en esto último donde nos queremos centrar. Obviamente estamos ante una tablet destinada para gamers, y no sólo porque algunos de sus complementos están destinados a este fin, como su mando, el cual por cierto es compra obligada, si no también por las diferentes opciones que tenemos para jugar con esta tablet.

En primer lugar podremos descargar cualquier juego de Google Play como cualquier otro dispositivo Android. En segundo lugar podremos hacer uso de GeForce NOW, una plataforma de pago con la que nos conectamos a los servidores de NVIDIA –los juegos no se descargan– y jugamos a cualquier juego de última generación, como por ejemplo The Witcher III. Contamos con tres meses gratis para probar el servicio, luego pasa a costar 9,99 euros al mes. Para ello obviamente necesitaremos una muy buena conexión a Internet. Y por último podremos hacer streaming con los títulos de nuestro ordenador.

Respecto al apartado multimedia, tenemos una pantalla de 8 pulgadas con resolución FHD y que nos da una cifra de 283 ppi, la cual se ve por cierto de fábula. También tenemos unos altavoces excelentes, que harán que jugar con esta tablet sea todavía una experiencia mejor.

Además, la NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 cuenta con la última versión de Android, es decir, 6.0 Marshmallow prácticamente stock, salvo por alguna que otra aplicación preinstalada como Twitch. Una maravilla de software que junto a su potente hardware, hace todo vaya sin ningún tipo de problema.

Por último, toca hablar del apartado fotográfico. Obviamente no estamos ante un dispositivo para tomar fotos, por lo que nos encontramos tanto con una cámara delantera como trasera de 5 megapíxeles. Pues para salir del paso.

La NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 nos ha enamorado. No sólo para jugar, sino también para cualquier otro menester. Pero claro, donde más destaca es en su apartado gamer donde no sólo vemos como corre cualquier tipo de juego sin problemas, sino que sus servicios complementarios como GeForce NOW la hacen una tablet diferente al resto.

Por lo demás es de mencionar el bajo precio de la tablet, 199 euros, además de la cantidad de complemento que se venden por separado, siendo el mando un must have en toda regla si queremos disfrutar de este dispositivo al cien por cien. Ya sea para jugar en la tablet o simplemente para disfrutar de otro tipo de contenidos, la NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 es de los mejores dispositivos que se pueden comprar a día de hoy.

Puntos positivos

  • Rendimiento: Gracias a su buen hardware, puede con todo lo que se le eche.
  • Concepto: Nos gusta el concepto, es decir, una tablet increíble para jugar, con mando y con servicios de pago para disfrutar todavía más.
  • Accesorios: Funda imantada, mando, lápiz… tiene un montón de complementos que podemos adquirir por separado y que sirven para que podamos exprimir la tablet al cien por cien.

Puntos negativos

  • Versión mayor: Nos hubiera gustado también ver una versión mayor, es decir, con pantalla más grande y mejor batería.

Huawei planning to enter the PC market

The mobile realm is definitely a hard environment to survive in, but despite the fierce competition, the market is still expanding rapidly. The situation is direr on the PC front. Due to a complex combination of trends, mobile devices being a bigger part of the overall mix, shares for the more traditional part of the industry are shrinking and only the strongest, fittest and most versatile are posed to survive.

This is why it is particularly strange to see new players trying to make their way into the realm. The latest such rumor however, says that Huawei might be making the unlikely move.

While the tech giant is far from a complete stranger to PC tech, its involvement has pertained mostly to network solutions and primarily on the enterprise side. Industry sources now claim that the OEM is planning to try its hand at a consumer PC. Most of the speculation stem from a recently filed trademark claim for the “MateBook” moniker.

Not much else is known about the alleged venture, but some have speculated that the device or perhaps even family line may use an Intel processor and employ the 2-in-1 form factor. This would, effectively, pit it up against established competitors, such as the Microsoft Surface. Of course, the name could just as easily be attributed to a standard laptop product, with a less than subtle reference to Apple’s legendary MacBook series.

Currently, we can’t really say how much truth this rumor holds, but it is worth noting that Xiaomi – another major Chinese OEM that has been on the rise lately has been involved in a similar laptop affair for well over a year now and an actual product is yet to materialize. Alleged Meizu MX6 launch invite leaks

A couple of images seemingly of media invites for an upcoming Meizu launch event have surfaced online. While the images do not reveal anything about the product being launched, reports say they are for the company’s MX6 flagship smartphone.

The MX6 has been the subject of little to no rumors or leaks so far. However, its launch is said to be just a few weeks away – sometime around March to be more specific. It is said to feature ultra-thin bezels with metal frame + glass design.

The device was spotted on AnTuTu last week, revealing that it is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC with 10-core CPU and Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, and sports a FHD display. RAM is 3GB, while internal memory is 32GB.

In terms of camera, the MX6 is rumored to feature a 20.7MP rear unit and an 8MP front shooter. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the device is also said to pack in a large 4,000mAh battery.

Aside from the MX6, we’ve also been hearing about a mini variant of the company’s Pro 5 smartphone. Reports, however, indicate an April launch for the device, i.e, after the MX6. Needless to say, none of this has been officially confirmed, so take it with a pinch of salt.
