Now that the Mate 8 is official, Huawei has switched to delivering the final touches for the upcoming P9. The successor to the P8 is probably due in a few weeks, and because of that we’re seeing more and more leaks and rumors about it.
Today’s information about the P9 comes in the form of a leaked schematic that is allegedly of this handset. As you can see, it marks a pretty big departure from the design of the P8 from 2015.
There’s a physical Home button on the front under the screen, which surely houses a fingerprint scanner – because otherwise there would be no need to forgo the software-rendered Android buttons. On the back we see a dual camera setup (which we’ve heard about before), along with a dual-LED flash. There’s a sole speaker on the bottom side of the phone, with the 3.5mm headset jack nearby.
The frame of the device is clearly going to be made out of metal, but it’s unclear if this will extend to the back as well, or if that will be a sheet of glass.
According to past rumors, the P9 should come with a 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen, the Kirin 950 SoC, dual 12 MP cameras on the rear, as well as a 3,000 mAh battery. It could become official at MWC in February, and we might see it in stores at some point in March.
Yesterday, Sony announced that the Xperia Z5, along with the Xperia Z5 Compact, would finally be headed to the United States. The devices have been available internationally for a bit, but will finally be available in the U.S. beginning February 7. There’s just one catch.
The international variants of both devices are equipped with fingerprint readers, a feature that’s basically expected on high-end smartphones these days. When February 7 rolls around, U.S. owners will find that particular feature missing from the Z5 and Z5 Compact. Sony has confirmed that this is indeed the case, and that the change is due to a “business decision.” What that means, exactly, is unknown.
It’s certainly a notable missing feature, even if it won’t negatively affect the devices performance-wise. Still, having that extra layer of security would have been nice.

En Europa, su precio oficial se estipuló en 479 euros, una diferencia bastante significativa respecto al mercado estadounidense.
Y seguramente por esas críticas, hace unos días Google decidió aplicar una rebaja considerable en el Google Nexus 5X, pasando de los 479 euros iniciales, a los 429 euros, que es su precio oficial actual. Es decir, 50 euros menos, una bajada interesante que puede hacer que muchos usuarios lo vean con otros ojos. Sin embargo, lo podemos encontrar incluso más barato en otras tiendas fuera de la Google Store

Por suerte, no solo tenemos la posibilidad de comprarlo en la tienda de Google, sino que hay otras tiendas que también lo tienen desponible, y encima, a un precio mucho más interesante. Por ejemplo, en Amazon podemos comprar el Google Nexus 5X por solo 386,10 euros, ya que tiene un 19% de descuento. Todavía más barato, y con envío gratuito, lo encontramos en eBay con importación desde Hong Kong, aunque en este caso debemos tener en cuenta que el envío podría conllevar gastos por trámites aduaneros.
En ambos casos se trata del modelo de 16 GB de almacenamiento interno, mientras que el de 32 GB podemos encontrarlo en las mismas tiendas por entre 50 y 150 euros más. Por nuestra parte, os dejamos con el análisis que le hicimos en su momento a este Google Nexus 5X, por si todavía estáis dudando si comprarlo o no. Como decíamos al principio, se trata de un buen dispositivo, que quizás pueda resultar caro en la Google Store, pero comprándolo en Amazon o en eBay, la relación calidad/precio es bastante mejor.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 was announced in November, and starting today you can already pick one up from Virgin Mobile if you’re in the US. Furthermore, the handset will reach Sprint’s other prepaid brand, Boost Mobile, on January 18, which is next Monday. That’s when you’ll be able to find it in retail stores, while online availability will start on January 19.
At both prepaid carriers, the Galaxy J3 is priced at $179.99 (plus tax), obviously without any requirement of signing a long-term contract.
The Galaxy J3 has a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 2 MP front-facing unit, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 4G LTE, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The version sold at Virgin and Boost has lesser cameras than the internationally-announced model, but it also comes with double the internal storage.
