Con el Google Nexus Player se estrenaba Android TV, una variante más de Android, esta vez totalmente adaptada a las televisiones. Google Chromecast 2015

Empezamos con un dispositivo de Google y acabamos con otro, el Google Chromecast de segunda generación. Aunque no servirá para llevar Android directamente a tu tele, sí que te servirá para jugar en ella haciendo “cast” de los juegos adaptados y utilizar el móvil o la tablet de mando, o mirroring. Con una velocidad de conexión muy mejorada respecto al anterior modelo, podremos hacerlo a la perfección.

Sin duda, uno de los puntos fuertes del Chromecast y apartado en el que saca pecho frente a sus rivales en esta lista es su precio. Aunque no tiene las mismas capacidades, para muchos usuarios será más que suficiente, por lo que solamente necesitarán gastarse los menos de 40 euros que cuesta.

Aunque hay algunos más, como por ejemplo OUYA –pero ya lleva más de dos años en el mercado– estos son algunos de los mejores dispositivos con los que puedes transformar tu TV en una consola Android, y pasarlo en grande con las posibilidades “videojueguiles” que nos ofrece este sistema operativo. Personalmente me quedo con la tablet de NVIDIA por su potencia, y por poder ofrecer algo que de momento ningún otro dispositivo con Android puede, como es el juego en la nube, además de su versatilidad, al poder usarla como la tablet que es y transportarla cómodamente.

HTC Vive pre-orders kick off on February 29

The pre-order campaign for the HTC Vice, one of the Oculus Rift main competitors, is going live on February 29. No need to check your calendars, indeed it’s a leap year.

Oculus Rift is already available on pre-order and it will launch this March. You can opt for one for the rather hefty £499 or $599.

The VR market will be having a blast this year with the Oculus kicking off first. The HTC Vive will be following just a month later – in April. There is still no info about Sony’s PlayStation VR.

HTC Vive is developed in collaboration with Valve and is also known as the Steam VR. It has gathered huge interest over the past few months and HTC even announced an upgrade on the final product just weeks before it goes on pre-order – the headset is now smaller, has a more comfy strap that can accommodate glasses, a camera, sharper displays, two-step triggers and doubled battery life for the controller.

HTC is still mum on the pricing, but it has never concealed it is targeting quality rather than affordability, so there is a good chance it goes higher than the Oculus Rift. We’ll know soon.
