Technology has always been prone to winner takes all. In 1969, the US anti-trust agency began proceedings against IBM, then the world’s leading computer company. The case dragged on for 13 very long years, and although it was later rejected by the courts, the whole affair illustrated the nature of the market: the company, at the time, was dominating the hardware, software and technology services market. New official Space Black Milanese Loop Apple Watch band spotted online
Ever since it released the Apple Watch, the Cupertino giant has been introducing tweaks and small additions to keep fan interest alive. As with most other products, Apple has been capitalizing big on accessories, like the special Hermes collection and making sure to spoil the user for choice. In the latest such move, Apple has shared yet another Apple Watch band – the Space Black Milanese Loop.
It was spotted on a few official Apple websites, first in the Czech Republic, then Portugal and Hungary. Coincidentally or not, the listing comes only hours after the OEM announced that it will be bringing the Apple Watch to Malaysia, Portugal and the Chech Republic, which could suggest that the product was inadvertently reveled.
This theory is further backed by the fact that the band still has no price listed, its description is copied over from the normal Milanese Band and the only other information is that it should start shipping in about a week and it is the 42mm variety, although one of the provided renders clearly reads 38mm, adding further to the possibility of a mix-up. Speaking of the old Milanese Band, the new one actually looks absolutely identical to it, only bearing a Space Black dye.

Huawei Honor 5X coming to the US at the end of this month for $200
The Huawei Mate 8 was the star of Huawei’s CES event, but the Huawei Honor 5X got an event of its own later on. It’s coming to the US at the end of this month at $200, available from Amazon, Newegg and HiHonor.
“Inspired by the shape and design of the famous Guggenheim Museum Bilbao,” the Honor 5X has an aluminum alloy body that has been polished by diamonds with ceramic coating brushed on using a special technique. That’s a premium manufacturing process on a surprisingly affordable phone.
The phone comes with a 5.5″ 1080p screen, an IPS LCD. Running EMUI 3.1 on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop, the 5X is powered by Snapdragon 615 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage (plus up to 128GB with a microSD card).
Huawei Honor 5X: Gold Gray Silver
A 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 28mm wide-angle lens is paired with a SmartImage 3.0 image processor and shoots 1080p video. The selfie camera on the front is wider, 22mm lens, with 5MP sensor and f/2.4 aperture.
Besides the metal body of the Huawei Honor 5X (which comes in Gold, Grey or Silver), the phone has a fingerprint reader on the back. The 5X is a dual-SIM phone with LTE connectivity.
Again, it will be available in the US from January 31 for $200. Don’t be surprised if you don’t see a lot of Huawei logos, the company is trying to establish “Honor” as a brand in its own…

Acierta con el arco y la flecha en Clash of Olympians de los creadores de Kingdom Rush
IronHide Game Studio es bien conocida por la saga Kingdom Rush que nos ha permitido echar unas partidas de gran calidad a un juego de estrategia tipo tower defense. Gran diseño de los niveles, personajes simpáticos y un estilo cartoon bien reconocido que ha conseguido que nos enfrentáramos a distintas expansiones que han conseguido ofrecer gran contenido para uno de los mejores tower defense que tenemos en Android. Lo que echábamos en falta de este estudio es la incursión en otro género de videojuegos para comprobar si eran capaces de ofrecer la misma calidad y buen hacer, algo que demuestran en un videojuego, que lleva ya un tiempo con nosotros pero que era el momento de volverlo a sacar a la luz.
En Clash of the Olympians seguiremos estando en plena batalla, pero con el cometido de ser nosotros mismos los que apuntemos con el arco y la flecha para ir eliminando a todos esos enemigos que quieren destruir el templo en el que nos encontramos situados. Un videojuego que sigue el mismo tono de humor y desenfadado a lo cartoon que hizo tan popular a la salga Kingdom Rush y que, de forma gratuita, se adentra en la Play Store para seguir ofreciendo algo de calidad, aunque eso sí, no llega a lo acontecido con esos tower defense. Veamos las ventajas y pormenores de este Clash of the Olympians de IronHide Game Studio.
Defiende el templo
Con un trasfondo mitológico, deberemos de situarnos en nuestro templo para defenderlo de todo tipo de criaturas mitológicas como pueden ser Minotauros, Gorgonas, Arpías y muchas más. Para ello podremos elegir entre tres héroes: Hércules, Perseo y Aquiles. Cada uno de ellos tendrá un arma especial con la que enfrentarse a esas hordas de enemigos. Aquiles con su lanza, Perseo con su arco y Hércules que dependerá de la fuerza para realizar más daño.
Clash of the Olympians hace uso de ese estilo gráfico cartoon para llevarnos ante distintos niveles en los que la diferencia entre ellos serán los distintos enemigos que irán apareciendo desde el lado derecho en un estilo scrolling 2D. Nosotros nos encontraremos en el lateral izquierdo con el arco o lanza preparado, para que, al estilo de Angry Birds, vayamos lanzando con swipes eligiendo bien la trayectoria para ir golpeando a las distintas criaturas.
Es aquí donde entra el gameplay de este título, en el que deberemos de tener cuidado de no cansar al héroe si no paramos de lanzar flechas, ya que se cansará y necesitará rellenar automáticamente la barra de energía. En estos segundos los enemigos se irán acercando, así que en los primeros niveles deberemos de cuidar bien los disparos para no cansaros a las primeras de cambio.
Actualizando el héroe
Según vayamos pasando niveles, podremos mejorar la resistencia, fuerza y otras estadísticas, al igual que comprar nuevos arcos para así hacer más daño en cada flechazo. También se puede mejorar los puntos de vida del templo, ya que habrá ciertos enemigos que harán mayores puntos de daño.
El único hándicap que le podemos ver es no tener una barra de trayectoria o potencia de disparo, ya que muchas veces se hace por intuición o por instinto, algo que lleva a que fallemos en demasía permitiendo que se abalancen toda esa horda de criaturas mitológicas.
Por lo demás, poco podemos decir más de un videojuego que tiene un buen acabado y que logra engancharnos al conseguir tener la práctica necesaria para ir eliminando todo tipo de enemigos. Lo tenéis de forma gratuita desde la Play Store con publicidad dentro de la aplicación.
En el acabado técnico
En general, aunque no llegue al nivel de anteriores títulos de este estudio, cumple con las expectativas. Quizás es demasiado simple y se le eche en falta algunas mecánicas, como la dicha de la barra de lanzamiento, pero en términos generales es un buen juego. Se queda lejos de los otros bien populares como Kingdom Rush, algo que deberán de cuidar ante otra afrenta como videojuego para no bajar la calidad media que suele atesorar los videojuegos de este estudio.

Canon announces two superzoom and three compact budget cameras
Canon has announced five new cameras, two of which are superzoom cameras and three are compact point and shoot. All the cameras are meant to be affordable for those on a tight budget.
The first is the Canon PowerShot SX640HS that has a 24-1200mm equivalent 50x optical zoom with image stabilization, 20.3 megapixel sensor, DIGIC 6 image processor, Wi-Fi, NFC, 1080p60 video, and 3.0-inch 461k dot LCD. It is priced at $399 and will be available in March.
The PowerShot SX240 IS has a 24-1008mm equivalent 42x optical zoom lens with image stabilization, 20 megapixel sensor with DIGIC 4+ image processor, Wi-Fi, NFC, 720p video, and 3.0-inch 230k dot LCD. The camera is priced at $299 and will be available in February.
Next is the PowerShot ELPH 360HS, that has 12x optical zoom with OIS, 20.2 megapixel sensor, Wi-Fi, NFC, DIGIC 4+ image procesor, 1080p video, and 3.0-inch LCD. It will be available in February in black, silver, and purple for $209.99.
The PowerShot ELPH 190 IS has a 10x optical zoom lens with OIS, 20 megapixel CCD sensor, dedicated Wi-Fi button with NFC, 720p video and is priced at $159.99. It will be available in February in black, red, and blue.
Lastly, there is the PowerShot 180 with 8x optical zoom, 20 megapixel CCD sensor, 720p video and a $119.99 price tag. It will be available in February in silver and red.
