Rumors are flying that Twitter is considering scrapping the iconic 140-character limit on tweets—possibly expanding it well into the thousands. A Re/Code story quoting anonymous sources suggests Twitter could raise the limit as high as 10,000. The problem Twitter faces is that it risks surrendering the unique thing that makes it Twitter. Without that differentiation it may be overshadowed by other social network platforms that do the same thing better.

There’s no specific Android-related device that we’re expecting Samsung to unveil at its press conference at 2PM PT this afternoon, but we’ll definitely see something. Samsung is already making headlines with its touchscreen-embedded “family hub refrigerator,” but we’ll the company’s new bio-processor will likely get some decent time in the spotlight. Since Samsung has already started mass production of the chip, it’s likely that a few wearables from Samsung and its other partners will show their faces for the first time.
Those hoping the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will show up at CES will most certainly be disappointed. Rumors surrounding the phones have suggested that they will be announced before Mobile World Congress in February, but there’s no indication that Samsung will unveil the phones this week.

Nvidia Shield TV users are in for a treat. Nvidia has just announced the Android TV device will be getting an update to Shield Android TV Upgrade 3.0, which includes the jump to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, along with a new game, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
First, Metal Gear. Making the move from PC and consoles, Revengeance is what happens when you cross Metal Gear and Devil May Cry. It’s a hack and slash game starring Raiden, a half-human cyborg ninja. It’s great fun and well worth playing. It will be available Thursday, January 7.
Now, the big news. Shield TV is now being updated to Android 6.0, Marshmallow, bringing with it the huge addition of adoptable storage. According to Nvidia, “when adding an SD card, USB drive or external hard drive, SHIELD Android TV can recognize the new storage as internal memory.” In other words, there’s really no reason to buy anything other than the 16GB model, with memory being so affordable right now.
Along with adoptable storage Nvidia is also introducing UltraFlix, the industry leader in 4K content, and a more customizable home screen.
Now is a great time to be a Nvidia Shield TV user. Look for the next update to drop soon.

Tras los primeros rumores del nuevo terminal de Huawei, el P9, hoy nos llega la primera noticia oficial sobre el nuevo dispositivo de Huawei: la tablet MediaPad 10 M2, que llega un día antes de tiempo que el CES 2016 en Las Vegas. La MediaPad 10 M2 es miembro más grande de la familia de tablets de Huawei, que tiene como antecesores la MediaPad T1, o su hermana pequeña, la M1.
Tal y como su nombre indica, la M2 incorpora una pantalla IPS FULL HD de 10 pulgadas, 2 por encima de la MediaPad T1. Por dentro, la M2 se moverá con un procesador Kirin HiSilicon 930 a 2 GHz, junto con una memoria RAM de 2 GB en su versión de 16 GB, o 3 GB de RAM para la versión de 64 GB de almacenamiento.
Por otro lado, esta tableta incorpora 13 megapíxeles en su cámara trasera y 5 megapíxeles en su cámara frontal, combinación que ya hemos visto miles de veces tanto en smartphones como tablets. Para mover todo esto, la MediaPad 10 M2 integra una batería de 6600 mAh, en un principio adecuada si pensamos en las dimensiones de su pantalla. Ambos modelos incorporarán un slot para tarjetas microSD.
Si vamos a la parte del software, la nueva tableta de Huawei vendrá con Android 5.1 Lollipop de la mano con su capa de personalización asiática EMUI versión 3.1, la última disponible. La M2 también incorporará unos altavoces distinguidos de la marca Harman/Kardon, dando así un toque diferencial respecto a sus rivales.
Aún así, donde más sorprende esta nueva tablet de Huawei es en su versión de 3 GB de RAM / 64 de almacenamiento, la cual incorporará un lápiz electrónico, que ayudará a moverse por su gran pantalla. En modelo de 2 GB de RAM / 16 GB de almacenamiento no vendrá con este lápiz, por lo que si queremos este pequeño detalle tendremos que dejarnos un poco más de dinero.
Concretamente, la MediaPad M2 sin lápiz costará unos 349 euros, y la versión de 3 GB de RAM y 64 GB de almacenamiento, y por lo tanto, con lápiz, costará 449 euros en un principio. Huawei ha anunciado su salida al mercado para el 17 de enero de este año, aunque es posible que tarde un poco más en España o Sudamérica. En su totalidad, habrá 4 modelos:
En resumen, Huawei apuesta por una nueva remesa de tabletas de gama media-alta que competirán directamente contra rivales como la Píxel C o las posibles nuevas Galaxy Tab. Por otro lado, la integración de un lápiz o unos buenos altavoces serán aspectos que nos ayudarán a decidir entre esta M2 u otra tablet, pero aún nos quedan saber todos los detalles, como su dpi.
Como aspectos negativos, de momento solo hay que destacar posiblemente su capa de personalización china, la EMUI 3.1, aunque a cada uno le molestara en mayor o menor medida.
