HTC and more than a dozen of its Vive partners are getting ready to show off their VR experiences at CES. While VR demos at the show have traditionally been powered by Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive will be making a name for itself this year. The HTC Vive truck tour will be open to the public with 8 demo bays in the parking lot in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center and those attending the show will be given nearly two dozen different opportunities to test out the HTC Vive.
While the HTC Vive can track users while they move around freely, Virtuix Omni (the omni-directional motion platform) and VirZOOM (a pedal-powered VR controller) will be showing off their integration with HTC Vive. Other show floor demos using the HTC Vive include the Dell-funded “The Lonely Whale“, Dassault Systemes 3D Dream Sketcher virtual CAD program, Audi’s virtual show room and Fox’s VR experience of the “The Martian.” But that’s just the beginning. Intel, AMD, CyberPowerPC, Envelop VR, EVGA, HP, HyperX, iBuyPowerPC, MSI, Nidec, Nvidia, and Zotac are also planning HTC Vive demos of their own.
If the next generation of the HTC Vive developer unit is a groundbreaking at HTC claims it will be, we wouldn’t be surprised if HTC walks away with a half dozen “Best of CES” awards by the end of the week.

La oleada de rumores respecto a los nuevos Samsung Galaxy S7 ya no nos pilla de sorpresa, y es que su presentación estaría bastante cerca. Lo más probable es que nos muestren cuatro nuevos modelos, aunque seguramente muestren dos en el MWC 2015 que se celebrará en febrero, y otros dos en el IFA 2016, o si se adelanta como en 2015, para el mes de agosto.
Sea como sea, Samsung ya tiene en el horno a sus nuevos buques insignia, y la noticia ahora tiene que ver con las cámaras fotográficas que montarían. Como sabéis, la cámara principal en los Samsung Galaxy S6 alcanza los 16 megapíxeles, pero según la última filtración, este dato sería distinto en la nueva generación, y no hacia un número superior, sino inferior.

Los chicos de Phone Arena se han hecho eco de una filtración que ha aparecido en las últimas horas en Reddit. Se trata de la imagen que podéis ver junto a estas líneas, una fotografía que muestra datos de uno de esos nuevos Samsung Galaxy S7 (posiblemente el S7 edge+). En ella se muestran especificaciones que más o menos ya sabíamos, como el procesador Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, que incluye la GPU Adreno 530, la pantalla QHD de 5,7 pulgadas, y 4 GB de memoria RAM.
La principal novedad sería, como decimos, la cámara de los Samsung Galaxy S7, que según estos datos, será de 12 megapíxeles, es decir, 4 megapíxeles menos que en los actuales Samsung Galaxy S6. Para los que ya estén poniendo el grito en el cielo, debemos deciros que esto no significa que la cámara y por tanto la calidad fotográfica vaya a ser peor, ni mucho menos, en los nuevos smartphones de Samsung, y es que la cantidad de megapíxeles al fin y al cabo poco o nada tiene que ver en este sentido.
Hace unos meses se habían escuchado rumores de que Samsung estaba trabajando en una nueva cámara de 12 megapíxeles, pero con un sensor de mayor tamaño que el que vemos en su cámara de 16 megapíxeles, Y ahí, además de en otros componentes, es donde se denota realmente la calidad de imagen. Un sensor más grande debería traducirse en una mejor calidad de imagen, por lo que de cumplirse, estaríamos ante una muy buena cámara, tiendo en cuenta que las cámaras de la actual generación son realmente buenas, como hemos podido comprobar en nuestros análisis.
