Weekly poll: iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus – which one are you getting

Overenthusiastic Apple fans around the world (well, in a dozen countries, really) have already received what were likely carefully planned first-minute pre-orders of the latest iPhone 6s/6s Plus. But did you go for pocketability and try to stay true to the original Apple ideology of small screens, or did you opt for the second-gen Plus-sized iPhone, all 5.5 inches and 192g of it?

Two days into open sales, the question is relevant as ever to the more patient folk – “which one should I get”? It’s a textbook case of size does matter, with the only other significant difference between the two being the optical image stabilization in the Plus’ camera. So, you should basically get the one you like better, and you should tell us about it.

Both these groups’ input is what we’re seeking in this week’s poll, which aims to establish the proportions of phablet vs. phone users in the Apple realm. Fire away and feel free to share the reasoning behind your choice in the comments….

Top ten fan favorite phones in September

Our Top 10 trending chart counts specs page hits, mostly dictated by practical considerations in the lines of price, size, network coverage, the like. In other words, “Which one should I buy” type of attitude drives those numbers.

Fan love doesn’t live within such constraints and our September chart of Top 10 fan favorite phones shows markedly different results than the trending lists of late. Starting from the top, it’s the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium that’s gathered up the strongest fanbase this month, ahead of the OnePlus 2 – both Sony and OnePlus have a reputation for a near cult-like following, so no surprises here.

The list continues with a pair of Samsung Galaxy Notes. It’s the Note5 that takes third spot in terms of newly discovered devotees, followed by it’s year-old brother, the Note 4. We imagine that it’s European readers hitting the heart button on the Note 4 in the absence of the next-gen model on their shelves.

Anyways, the Xperia Z3 is fifth by number of new recruitments this month, ahead of the Galaxy S6. Some fan love spills over the LG G4 too, followed by yet another Xperia, the plain Z5. Motorola’s flagship Moto X Style and the iPhone 6s complete the list of flagships, disturbed by one “flagship killer”.

Weekend Anime: Knights Of Sidonia

There are certain aspects of mecha anime that have become somewhat of a staple. The trick is to make these staples seem fresh and interesting. In that sense, the challenge then falls on the writer to concoct something new out of what has already passed. Knights of Sidonia is an excellent example of what happens when somebody gets it very right.

If Netflix Is Indeed Insourcing TV Production Then It May Change TV Forever

Apparently not content with using the traditional broadcast model of acquiring television shows for broadcast, Netflix is said to be doubling down into the business of producing its own shows in-house. And if the report from Bloomberg Business is to believed, Chelsea Handler’s new show might be the first to make it to the public.
