Pandora One Day Pass gives you a day of Pandora One benefits for 99 cents

Popular Internet radio service Pandora has announced a new offering that will give users access to 24 hours of ad-free music for 99 cents. Appropriately dubbed Pandora One Day Pass, the new payment tier will be available in the US starting tomorrow i.e. September 10.

“Delivering the best personalized music experience is our sole purpose at Pandora, and our team of nearly 100 musicologists dedicate an indescribable amount of energy to make that happen for each individual listener,” said Pandora’s chief product officer Chris Phillips. “Some listeners want an ad-free experience every once in a while, and the Pandora One Day Pass offers a new way to effortlessly access the music they love.”

The Pandora One Day Pass will only be available for purchase on iOS and Android devices, although the ad-free experience can be enjoyed anywhere you want, including cars and connected devices. The pass will also sponsor Pandora’s “Listener Love Day,” which commemorates the company’s 10-year anniversary with 24 hours of zero-ads music.

BLU Vivo Air LTE debuts as the slimmest LTE smartphone in the United States

In addition to the Pure XL phablet, the Miami-based manufacturer BLU took the wraps off the Vivo Air LTE smartphone at CTIA in Las Vegas. With a 5.1mm body and 97 grams of weight, the newcomer is the slimmest 4G LTE device to arrive in the United States.

As its name suggests, the ultra-slim smartphone is an upgraded variant of the BLU Vivo Air, which was announced in January. The Vivo Air LTE swaps the MediaTek chipset of the original for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 solution, coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The rest of the handset’s specs include 4.8″ 720p Super AMOLED display, 16GB of built-in memory, 8MP main camera, 5MP front-facing unit, and 2,050mAh battery. BLU Vivo Air LTE boots Android Lollipop.

The handset will hit the shelves on September 22 in black or white color scheme, sporting a $199 price tag. Its LTE bands will be compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile.

Solitaire, Voting And The Monte Carlo Method

A recent update to the solitaire app on my phone installed only winning deals.  That is, every game can be won, although it may not be completely obvious how to do so.  If you make a wrong move at some point, you may lose.  The app allows games to be restarted so that you can try again if you get stuck.  At first, I wasn’t convinced I would like having every game winnable since it seems like cheating, but as it turns out I rather enjoy it.  With the old version if I didn’t win on the first try I would simply start a new game, but now, since I know the game can be won, I will restart it a few times until I figure out the right sequence of moves to get the win. It’s like a puzzle. This weekend, I really got stuck.
