HTC One M9e passes through TENAA, a single-camera One M8s?

Oh, HTC what is going on? The HTC One M9e hit TENAA, a throwback to the HTC One (M8) days with a metal chassis and a 5″ 1080p screen. But it’s different from this alleged M9e, which also passed through TENAA, and don’t confuse it with the One ME9.

Anyway, back to the One Em Nine Ee. It measures 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.6mm and is powered by an octa-core 2.2GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It has 16GB of storage and a microSD slot.

The camera is fairly modest – 13MP/1080p with dual-LED flash on the back and a 4MP one on the front. Consulting our database (we can’t keep these M-digit-letter models straight anymore) it seems that the HTC One M9e is like a One M8s or One (M8 Eye) without the second camera.

We expect to see the M9e along the One A9 and Butterfly 3 unveiled tomorrow.

Xiaomi Mi 4C sometido al drop test, ¿resistirá todos los impactos?

Para nuestra sorpresa inesperada, en las últimas semanas el fabricante chino Xiaomi ha presentado los que podríamos decir sus apuestas finales para terminar el actual año, y no son otros que el Xiaomi Mi 4i, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 y Xiaomi Mi 4C, cada cual con distintas características y componentes pero manteniendo la política de la empresa de rendimiento/calidad/precio, algo esencial y fruto del éxito que obtienen.

Respecto al Xiaomi Mi 4C, el último de la lista que ha sido presentado, un grupo de usuarios han querido someter al terminal chino a distintas caídas para comprobar y valorar su resistencia frente a impactos contra el suelo que normalmente suelen suceder en el día a día.

En las distintas pruebas, el terminal no recibe, en parte, duros golpes, si no caídas que se dan por pequeños descuidos como resbalarse de nuestras manos cuando lo sacamos del bolsillo, un golpe mientras lo sostenemos a la altura del pecho e impacta contra el suelo y similares.

Como ahora veremos, en los primeros impactos el terminal demuestra su fantástica construcción y resiste perfectamente a caídas habituales a media altura de nuestro cuerpo, manteniéndose intacto y sin apenas ningún desperfecto.

Posteriormente, en otro golpe el dispositivo sí termina por romper el panel de la pantalla por el duro impacto, que incluso para más mérito no suelen ser los habituales ya que no se suele dar el caso de caerse desde tal altura. Aún así, es lógico que termine por romperse, ¿o es que existe un terminal irrompible y aún no lo conocemos? Pues eso.

El mérito, además de Xiaomi por su construcción también se debe al Corning Gorilla Glass de recubre el panel, otorgándole una protección que salta a la vista por su calidad y que sin duda cumple su función de buena manera.

Para concluir con el duro test de caídas, no podemos decir otra cosa que el terminal soporta hasta los golpes más fuertes y mantiene prácticamente intacta toda su construcción, algo que en estos tiempos no se suele apreciar en la mayoría. Además, no olvidemos que su resistencia asegura esos componentes de gama alta y lo hace aún más tentador.

YU teases Yutopia, says it’s the most powerful in the world

If you have heard of Micromax’s subsidiary “YU”, it is most-likely because of its line of affordable models, which have been doing fairly well in India. Now it appears the OEM is planning to finally launch its first proper flagship device. But YU has also dared to venture one step beyond with a lofty statement that Yutopia will be nothing short of “the most powerful smartphone ever”.

Now that is a big check to cash and, as always, the key might be in the details, as the whole statement reads: “to manufacture the world’s most powerful smartphone in India”. Even with this clarification, we remain skeptical as to whether YU’s ‘Project Achilles’ can actually pull this off. We’ll certainly love to be proven wrong, of course.

The point of that matter is that YU is planning to expand its lineup, beyond the sub INR 10,000 mark it has been targeting so far with the Yureka and Yuphoria handsets. And, while making a higher end phone isn’t really a challenge in itself, creating one that is capable and affordable enough is no easy task.

Like we said, no hardware details have been shared about the phone yet, but leaked benchmark results suggest that the device will probably run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. There has also been world of a 3GB version, perhaps with 16GB of storage. The display on the Yutopia should be 5.2 inches with a resolution of either QHD or 1080p. Perhaps both options will be available, along with the aforementioned memory tiers. The camera setup should consist of a 21MP main shooter and an 8MP one on the front.

The smartphone will likely be launched in time for Diwali, which means we could see the device as early as next month.
