Xiaomi today continued its tradition of launching well-specced Android phones at affordable prices with the debut of the Mi 4c. The Xiaomi Mi 4c boasts a 5-inch 1920×1080 display with Sunlight Display and Night Reading Mode, the former of which will pump up the screen brightness so that you can see the display outdoors, and the latter of which will dim the screen so you can use it at night without being blinded.

Xiaomi has also included a couple of tricks with the Mi 4c. First up is Edge Tap, which will let you tap the edge of the unit once to take a selfie or twice to go back. You can check out a video of Edge Tap below. Also included is Double Tap to Wake, which will wake the Mi 4c’s display when you tap it twice.

The back of the Mi 4c’s got a 13-megapixel camera with Sony IMX258/Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL sensor, Phase Detection Autofocus, and two-tone flash. If you ever decide to take a selfie with the Mi 4c, you’ll do so with a 5-megapixel shooter with a wide-angle lens and Beautify mode.

Powering Xiaomi’s newest phone is a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808, which also brings Quick Charge 2.0 for the Mi 4c’s 3080mAh battery. Also included is 2/3GB of RAM, 16/32GB of storage, dual SIM slots, and a USB Type-C connector. Xiaomi has also thrown an infrared remote control into the Mi 4c that’ll let you control your TV with your phone.

The Xiaomi Mi 4c will be available in China starting September 23 at a price of ￥1,299 ($204 USD) for the 2GB/16GB model and ￥1,499 ($235 USD) for the 3GB/32GB version. While the Mi 4c may not he the most high-end Android phone around, it’s got a perfectly respectable feature set, and it’s an awesome value for $204. The bad news is that we don’t know when or if we’ll ever see the Mi 4c outside of China, so most of us probably won’t ever have the opportunity to buy one.
