For those that like to keep tabs on Android’s distribution, the Android Developers blog is more than happy to oblige by offering regular updates on that front. To help encapsulate the trend of Lollipop’s adoption, Google’s latest distribution numbers show Android 5.0 and 5.1′s steady growth.
The latest results show devices that checked into the Google Play Store over the 7-day period ending on September 7. With that in mind, both Android 5.0 and Android 5.1 saw increases in their percentage numbers, with the former at 15.9% and the latter positioned now at 5.1 percent. Compare that to the 15.5% that Android 5.0 registered on in August, and the 2.6 percent that Android 5.1 was tracking in the same month, Android’s latest version saw the biggest bump in a month’s time.
Android 4.4 KitKat is now registering on 39.2 percent of devices checking into the Play Store, which means that’s actually down from the 39.3% that KitKat pulled in during the month of August. Meanwhile, Android 4.1 through Android 4.3 Jelly Bean came in at 31.8%, which is down from the 33.6% the Android Developers blog showed in August.
As should be expected, the percentages drop quite a bit from then on. Android 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich is now on 3.7% of devices, while Android 2.3.3 to Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread is now on 4.1% of devices. Finally, the last version that the Android Developers blog is tracking is Android 2.2, Froyo, which is now only on 0.2% of devices.
While the majority of devices are still running Android 4.4, it’s at least good to see that Android 5.1 is seeing a rising number of devices registered with its software.

Desde tiempo atrás han sido y siguen siendo de las mejores que podemos encontrar montadas en un dispositivo móvil pero, ¿serán mejores que la competencia? Sony afirma que sí.
Así rinde la cámara del Sony Xperia Z5 frente al resto
Antes de su salida y gracias al medio PhoneArena que ha puesto a prueba el nuevo terminal de Sony en plena feria IFA en Berlín, hemos conocido hasta qué punto ha evolucionado la cámara del Xperia Z5 frente a su antecesor, el Xperia Z3 e incluso comparándola con los tope de gama actuales.
La prueba recoge fotografías en un ambiente algo más oscuro capturando la belleza de un Volkswagen rojo expuesto, y por otro lado un ambiente muy luminoso con todo tipo de plantas y flores, junto a la escena del IFA de fondo. Y los candidatos a la comparativa, como no, no son otros que el protagonista, el Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3, Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4 y el eterno rival iPhone 6 Plus.
Ambiente más oscuro y más cercano
No podemos negar que estamos frente a cinco de los mejores terminales con las mejores cámaras del mercado, pero las diferencias son claras respecto un terminal a otro. Cada uno capta los colores, la definición y la luz de diferente forma, y aunque a simple vista no lo parezca, las diferencias son muy claras.
El LG G4 sabe cómo presentar un resultado con mucha luz a pesar de la poca iluminación que presenta. El Galaxy S6 obtiene una muy buena definición e iluminación también. El iPhone 6 Plus, por supuesto saca pecho en la prueba, pero sin duda el Xperia Z5 consigue unos colores de los más reales y un equilibrio muy bueno entre luz y oscuridad, sin modificar demasiado la escena real.
Ambiente más amplio y más luminoso
En esta prueba las diferencias son mucho más claras que en la anterior. Claramente vemos como cada terminal adapta la escena según las posibilidades de su sensor y las propias optimizaciones mediante el software implementado.
El LG G4 capta una escena mucho más amarillenta y fuera de lo normal. El Galaxy S6 compensa perfectamente los colores, la iluminación y el contraste, un resultado envidiable. El iPhone 6 Plus se queda algo atrás en cuanto a ángulo y obtención de la luz. Respecto al Xperia Z5 vemos unas claras diferencias respecto al Xperia Z3: mucha más definición, mejores colores, brillo y contraste muy compensado. Aunque no es mucho mejor que el resto, sí presume de mejores resultados, no hay más que fijarse en los detalles.
Sony está tan convencida de que tal ha sido la evolución del sensor de su cámara y su desempeño a la hora de la verdad, que ellos mismos se atribuyen el mérito de la mejor cámara montada en un smartphone.
Si bien aún es pronto para alabar los resultados ya que ni siquiera han aparecido y menos aún hemos podido hacer un análisis al detalle para ver como se comporta realmente, sin duda alguna los resultados son de lo mejor visto hasta la fecha y no cabe duda que Sony no defraudará en este aspecto.
