La feria IFA en Berlín nos está dejando muy buen sabor de boca con toda esa cantidad de terminales que están presentando las grandes firmas que presumen de sus dispositivos Android. Entre ellas debemos mencionar a Huawei, que nos ha sorprendido gratamente con su reloj inteligente Huawei Watch y su smartphone Huawei Mate S.
Pero las novedades no terminan aquí, y aunque siempre damos mucha importancia a la gama alta, este terminal, el Huawei G8 posicionado en la gama media tiene mucho que decir. Así pues, ¡vamos a ello!
Comenzando por su aspecto físico, la parte que más veremos del terminal toma prestado el diseño del nuevo Huawei Mate S aunque con unos ligeros retoques. Nos referimos a que cuenta con un diseño más redondeado por lo general, alejándose del diseño más serio de su hermano mayor. Y no está fabricado en plástico, no, pues usa el mismo material de fabricación que el Mate S, por lo que encontramos aluminio en la totalidad de su cuerpo.
Las especificaciones, aunque es una gama media no nos deja frío ni mucho menos. Panel IPS de 5,5 pulgadas con resolución 1080 x 1920 píxeles y 401 ppp. Cuenta con un procesador Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 de ocho núcleos a 1,5 GHz, 2 GB de RAM con almacenamiento interno de 16 GB o 3 GB de RAM con almacenamiento interno de 32 GB.
Para la fotografía dispone de una cámara trasera de 13 megapíxeles con autofoco y flash LED de doble tono. Para los selfies una algo más humilde pero mucho más que suficiente: 5 megapíxeles.
Otras características con las que cuenta es la posibilidad de insertar dos tarjetas SIM a la vez, o bien una tarjeta microSD para ampliar el almacenamiento hasta 64 GB extra. Y por si fuera poco, incluye el mismo lector de huellas dactilares mejorado del Huawei Mate S.
Nuestra más sincera opinión respecto al Huawei G8 es muy positiva. A pesar de que es un gama media, es lo que conocemos como un gama media-alta o gama media premium por su fabricación en metal, las características como el lector de huellas del Mate S y un rendimiento fantástico.

Android Wear
iOS finally gets Android Wear support with the release of the Android Wear app on the Play Store. The app works with any iOS device running iOS 8.2 and above, although it is naturally optimized to work with iPhones. The app will allow you to pair any Android Wear smartwatch with your iPhone over Bluetooth. The app will then push all phone notifications to the watch as well as show Google Now cards. There is no support for apps at the moment but the app does allow you to download and install select watch faces. If you’re looking for full-fledged Android Wear experience, you won’t find it here but considering it is working with a different platform altogether the Android Wear experience with iOS is pretty decent and usable as long as you just need to see your notifications on your wrist.

Google Street View
Google’s new Street View app lets you drop down to various locations around the world and watch 360 degree panoramas shot by the Google Street View car or by people shooting 3D panoramas from their phone. The app shows you various locations that you can click on and view immediately. If your device supports a gyroscope you can just move the device around to look around instead of swiping around on the screen. You can also shoot 3D panoramas from the app and upload to your Google account, which could then be visible to other people. You can also connect to a dedicated 360 degree camera, such as the Ricoh Theta S to capture better 360 degree panoramas.

Next Keyboard
Next Keyboard is a great new keyboard for iPhone. The app has next word predictions that learns from you and automatically suggests relevant words as you type along with autocorrect. If you want to move your cursor around, just swipe left or right on the space button instead of using the terrible iOS text selection tool. There are also over 1400 emoji to choose from along with emoji suggestion as you type and stickers. You can also choose from multiple themes for the keyboard.

Skype
Skype received major update on both iOS and Android. The iPhone version gets a new UI, simpler navigation, more powerful search to find conversations, contacts, and groups, and easier switching between call and chat screens. The iPad version also gets that along with location sharing, new large animated emoticons, starting groups and chats, interacting with notifications, and sharing and receiving photos more easily. The Android version of the app gets Material Design update with a floating action button, enhanced search, and improved messaging functionality.

HTC quietly introduced the affordable Desire 728 phablet in China. The dual-SIM device is available in two color schemes – white and gold, or black and gray.
The Desire 728 packs 64-bit MediaTek 728 chipset with 1.3GHz octa-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. The rest of the device’s specs include 16GB of expandable memory, 5.5″ 720p IPS LCD display, BoomSound stereo speakers, 13MP main camera, and 5MP front-facing unit.
Connectivity options of the smartphone include Cat. 4 LTE among others. HTC Desire 728 boots Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with HTC China Sense on top.

Por unos instantes dejamos de lado los smartphones, tablets y todo tipo de nuevos wereables que recoge la feria IFA 2015 en Berlín para tratar los televisores. Sí, y no de cualquier forma, si no de la mano del gigante Philips, una firma con gran experiencia en su sector y destacada por la enorme calidad que presentan sus televisores presentados año tras año.
Te preguntarás porqué hablamos de televisores, ¿no? El motivo es que su firmware no es otro que Android TV, una versión de nuestro sistema operativo adaptado a televisores y con un gran número de las funciones que encontramos en nuestros terminales.
Así pues, vamos a echar un vistazo a las características de los nuevos televisores Philips con Android TV y ver porqué son merecedores de unas primeras impresiones en vídeo y por escrito.
Aunque en el apartado del diseño no podemos hacer mucho hincapié, sí es de agradecer que esté tan logrado al ofrecer unos marcos y un grosor muy bien conseguido, además de una peana acoplada en el lado izquierdo y derecho para conseguir una imagen mucho más limpia y que incluso parece que esté anclado a la pared.
Sus características son de lo más tope de gama que encontramos en este sector, como su alta resolución 4K y no sólo en televisores grandes, si no incluso en algunos más compactos. Y no todos los méritos se lo lleva el panel, que también, pues mejora sustancialmente la calidad de la imagen mediante retoques y optimizaciones realizadas con el software que incluye, mejorando la nitidez, el contraste, junto con el modo HDR activo arroja una calidad sin igual. Otra característica que lo hace único es la tecnología AmbiLight, pues en la parte trasera incluye una serie de LEDs que reproducen los colores mostrados en pantalla en la pared.
Por si fuera poco viene la guinda del pastel: Android TV. Con ello no requeriremos de un dispositivo similar al Nexus Player, ya que incluye todo ello integrado en el firmware, junto con las ventajas de una SmartTV como tal. Esto incluye bondades como disfrutar de títulos en Google Play como Asphalt 8 mediante un gamepad conectado, aplicaciones como Spotify para la reproducción de música en streaming o visualizar vídeos desde YouTube con la propia aplicación oficial.
