Google launches new Street View apps for Android and iOS

Today Google updated the Android’s Street View app and launched a standalone Street View app for the iOS. Both apps offer the same functionality and support adding your photo spheres around the globe.

Now you can not only explore the world via street view and check out amazing places thanks to the photos spheres worldwide, but you can also contribute to the latter. Both Street View apps support uploading your spheres and sharing them in the world.

Exploring the Street View collections is now very easy, with a very capable Search functionality.

The uploading of spheres is easy too, and Google even added support for third-party connection with spherical cameras such as the Ricoh Theta S and NCTech iris360. The Theta S spherical camera was in fact unveiled today as well.

The Street View app is replacing the Photo Sphere Camera app on iOS, while the Android version should be available for update in the Play Store, if it wasn’t automatically updated already.

Happy exploring!

Samsung teases mystery ‘Galaxy View’ device with debut scheduled for October

Samsung has a big presence at this year’s IFA event in Berlin. It’s currently showing off the brand new Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic smartwatches, but that’s not enough for the company. It now wants you to keep your attention turned to October, when it plans on announcing yet another new thing.

Samsung was coy on the details when it began teasing a brand new mystery device, which it’s calling the “Galaxy View.” While the initial view of the device seems to indicate a pretty large tablet, the other teaser images start to show other hints, like that it could be just an accessory, like a kickstand. Unfortunately, Samsung wasn’t privy to divulge any additional information on what it might be, and told those in attendance to wait until October to hear more.
