New Verizon logo leaks out

Verizon’s big red check mark is a pretty well-known brand in the US, but if a new leak is to be believed, Big Red may be planning to totally change its logo.

According to AdAge, Verizon today launched a new logo internally ahead of a public launch that’s scheduled for tomorrow, September 3. You can see both the old and new logos below. The new logo has a refreshed font and ditches the red Z that’s present in the old logo. Perhaps most notable is the tweaked red check, which has changed from a huge check above the Verizon name to a small, superscript-style check at the end of the name.

This alleged new Verizon logo is a big change from the old logo, much like Google’s logo change that happened yesterday. Verizon’s had its old logo for quite a while, and so it wouldn’t surprise us if the company felt that it’s time for a new, more modern logo.

What do you think of this purported new Verizon logo?
