Apple reportedly planning to enter original programming business
Apparently, the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime could soon have some serious competition. According to a report from Variety, Apple is planning to enter the original programming business.
As per the report, the goal is to create development and production divisions – hiring for which will begin soon – and make them operational by next year. The company is already in talks with executives in Hollywood to gauge their interest in spearheading efforts to produce entertainment content.
The iPhone maker is said to have made an offer to ex-Top Gear stars Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond earlier this year, but they were hired by Amazon last month.
Things are at a nascent stage, and details are sketchy, the report notes, adding that for instance, there’s is currently no clarity on the structure of the business. When reached for comment, an Apple spokesperson said they do not comment on “rumor and speculation.”
The report comes just over a month after YouTube hired MTV’s programming president Susanne Daniels as the vice president of its Originals division.

Huawei teases Force Touch display on upcoming MateS
Huawei will be launching it’s new 5.7-inch phablet tomorrow. A series of tweets from the company has revealed the phone will have features such as fingerprint sensor and Force Touch display.
Now, a couple of images have leaked that show the design of the phone, and also confirm the name to be MateS. The front of the phone has the 5.7-inch display with thin bezels. The back is made out of metal and has the fingerprint sensor below the camera with dual LED flash.
The phone is said to have a 1080p display with Huawei’s latest Kirin 935 chipset with 3GB of RAM. On the back is a 20 megapixel camera while the front has a 8 megapixel shooter.
The Force Touch feature seems to be similar to what Apple will be including on the upcoming iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, where you can press harder for additional functionality.

Samsung Gear S2: así es su nueva apuesta al sector de los smartwatches
Esta semana es crucial para los más destacados fabricantes de dispositivos Android al tener un año más el conocido evento IFA ubicado en Berlín. Por tanto, será una semana decisiva donde cada firma tiene que exponer sus apuestas y destacar por encima del resto.
En el caso de Samsung, no ha querido esperar más y han hecho oficial su nuevo smartwatch, el Gear S2. Apuestan, como otros tantos, por el diseño circular y dos variantes para un público con distintas aficiones y objetivos.
Samsung Gear S2: Volviendo a lo tradicional
Un año después, tras el primer Samsung Gear S llega el sucesor de este, con muchos cambios y apostando por un diseño mucho más minimalista, clásico y moderno a la vez, dejando de lado ese factor forma cuadrado que terminó por no convencer a muchos usuarios de Android.
En el caso del Samsung Gear S2, llegará en dos variantes: una llamada simplemente Gear S2 y la restante que le añaden el ‘Classic’ para, como decíamos, ir dirigido a un segmento de personas que prefieren el diseño más clasico, con correa de piel y tono metalizado.
Si entramos de lleno en el terreno de las especificaciones, encima del papel nos convencen de buena manera. Empezamos con una pantalla Super AMOLED de 1,2 pulgadas redonda con una resolución de 360 x 360 píxeles y 302 ppp, procesador Exynos 3250 dual core a 1 GHz y Snapdragon 400 para el modelo 3G, además de una batería de 250 mAh o 300 mAh para el modelo 3G también. Dispone de 512 MB de RAM, 4 GB de almacenamiento interno, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC y resistencia al polvo y el agua con su certificación IP68, sumergible hasta un metro máximo 30 minutos.
La gran novedad es que no hará uso de Android Wear como otros smartwatches, si no apuestan por el sistema operativo propio de la marca: Tizen. Parece ser que esto limitará la conectividad del mismo únicamente emparejándose con dispositivos Samsung, por lo que si deseas hacerte con él, deberás adquirir algún que otro terminal de la firma.
Ni precio ni fecha de lanzamiento, pues seguramente los conoceremos el jueves día 3 que, teóricamente tendrá lugar la presentación de Samsung en el IFA, hasta entonces atentos a nuestro blog.
