Watch Out For Phishing Scams Like These

Motherboard reporter Lorenzo Franceschi-Bicchierai recently reported on an Iranian hacking campaign, which attempted to break into Iranian activist and journalist email accounts using fake Google Drive links. It’s possible that the campaign is linked to either the Iranian government or the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The links lead to phishing pages asking users to enter their password as well as the code sent to their cellphone, so that the attackers could get into their accounts.

ZTE Nubia Z7: pantalla QHD, Qualcomm Snapdragon, 3 GB de RAM y precio de escándalo

Como sabéis, en Andro4all os traemos continuamente recomendaciones de smartphones interesantes tanto en precio como en características. Ese tipo de terminales que no cuestan un ojo de la cara, pero que al mismo son capaces de plantar cara a otros mucho más caros. En esta ocasión, queremos hablaros del ZTE Nubia Z7, un impresionante phablet que estamos seguros que os encantará.

El ZTE Nubia Z7 destaca de buenas a primeras por su gran pantalla, de 5,5 pulgadas, y todavía destaca más cuando atendemos a su espectacular resolución Quad HD de 1440 x 2560 píxeles. Para mover tanto píxel en pantalla, lógicamente hace falta potencia, y en ese apecto el ZTE Nubia Z7 tampoco se queda corto, gracias a su procesador Qualcomm Snapragon 801 de 4 núcleos corriendo a 2,5 GHz, y apoyado sobre 3 GB de memoria RAM. Para el almacenamiento se reservan 32 GB internos.

En este phablet encontramos también un buen apartado fotográfico, con una cámara principal de 13 megapíxeles con apertura f/2.0 acompañada de un flash LED, y una cámara delantera de 5 megapíxeles, suficiente para unos selfies de calidad.

En el apartado de la conectividad, el ZTE Nubia Z7 es de lo más completo, con soporte para doble tarjeta SIM, 4G LTE (aunque no compatible con la banda de 800 MHz), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, y tampoco se han olvidado de la radio FM ni del NFC.

Google Does The Right Thing, Again

Five years ago, Google did the right thing: it exited the world’s largest Internet market rather than yield to China’s censorship rules.
Now, Google has done it again, fighting allegations by the European Commission (EC) that “the company has abused its dominant position in the markets for general internet search services in the European Economic Area (EEA) by systematically favouring its own comparison shopping product in its general search results pages. The Commission’s preliminary view is that such conduct infringes EU antitrust rules because it stifles competition and harms consumers.”
Here is a quote from Google’s response to EC allegations: “While Google may be the most used search engine, people can now find and access information in numerous different ways—and allegations of harm, for consumers and competitors, have proved to be wide of the mark.”  The company further provides comprehensive data to defy EC’s allegations.
Why is that the right move? Because regulators usually have a political agenda. In the name of “competition,” they usually support and re-enforce entrenched economic interests, and end up limiting competition and innovation.
The absence of Google from China, for instance, leaves the market to local competitor Baidu, which enjoys a near monopoly there. And any restrictions in the way Google does business in the EU will strengthen local competitors.
Doing the right thing has consequences, of course. Leaving China, Google has suffered a great deal in missing earnings, and fighting EC could end up with the company having to pay severe fines. But that’s part of a company’s character, and character is destiny.
That’s one of the Golden Rules of Leadership.
Besides, Google has demonstrated that it can make money by doing what’s its leadership believes to be right.

The top 10 trending phones of week 35

There were no high-profile launches this week but there was still plenty of action in our Trending Top 10 chart.

The Samsung Galaxy Note5 and Motorola Moto G (3rd gen) held their first and second spots respectively, but the Galaxy Note 4 fell of the chart – it was pushed out by the iPhone 6 (the roles were reversed last week).

The Samsung Galaxy J5 climbed to third place, swapping places with the Grand Prime which fell to fifth position. It was a good week for the J series, the Galaxy J7 clawed back in after falling off the chart several weeks ago.

The Galaxy A8 rose in popularity slightly (we like to think our review helped), displacing the Galaxy S6. Like the J7, the Asus Zenfone 2 returned to the Top 10 after a few week’s absence.

Weekly poll results: Galaxy Note5, S6 edge+ get the nod

Our weekly poll stretched for a fortnight this time, but it was only for the better. It gave you the opportunity to gain a better perspective on the Samsung Galaxy Note5 and S6 edge+ and cast a more informed vote on the matter of their hotness.

Far from a raving reception the two have gotten, but the response is positive overall. The first glance at the results may evoke a bewildered look on your face – the Note5 getting more upvotes than the S6 edge+ in a mostly superficial poll, where design would seem to matter more?

That proved not to be the case and productivity won over looks, with the S Pen tipping the scales in the Note’s direction, flawed design or not. That’s not say that the Galaxy S6 edge+ doesn’t have its fans, it gets a similar 3 out of 5 positive votes.

The approval rates, however, are among the lowest of late – the Sony Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra gathered upwards of 80% two weeks ago, and so did the Moto X Style a while earlier. It’s perhaps a bit too early, though, for these numbers to be considered a cause for concern for…

Blitzcrank’s Poro Roundup, un arcade divertido de los creadores de League of Legends

League of Legends es ahora mismo uno de los MOBAs de mayor popularidad en el que miles de jugadores se enfrentan todos los días a través de partidas online o campeonatos, lo que le ha llevado a ser un referente en eso de los eSports. Debido a este título, el estudio creador del mismo y que no es otro que Riot Games goza de una popularidad enorme, y le ha llevado incluso a lanzar un nuevo videojuego a Android aunque muy lejos de lo que es el propio LOL.

Blitzcranks’s Poro Roundup es un endless runner creado por Riot Games que nos pone ante un extraño robot androide, campeón en LOL, que deberá de ir capturando a sus amigos del alma para evitar que el Barón Nashor los tome como merienda. Con esta simple premisa llega un simple videojuego que seguramente os enganchará durante un rato, y más si estáis esperando en la lista de espera para entrar a su afamado League of Legends. Un videojuego curioso para matar el rato como podréis comprobar a continuación.

Desde Riot Games un videojuego simple y adictivo

Con Blitzcranks’s Poro Roundup nos vamos directamente a un arcade sin muchos anhelos y con pocas pretensiones, pero que gracias a esto mismo consigue engancharnos con cuatro campeones de League of Legends y 11 niveles únicos. Ese trasfondo como historia en la que tenemos que evitar por todos los medios que nuestros simpáticos amigos sean comidos por el Barón Nashor, nos lleva a pasar el rato agradable desde la pantalla de nuestro smartphone o tablet Android.

Uno de los puntos de calidad de este videojuego es poder jugar a personajes y campeones de League of Legends, a lo que podemos sumar una buena variedad de skins personalizables.

Lo curioso de este videojuego es que estará disponible hasta el 21 de septiembre, por lo que si lo quieres tener en tu smartphone tendrás que descargarlo ya, para así salvaguardarlo en la memoria interna y no desaparezca durante mucho tiempo. Recuerda después de hacer una copia de su APK con alguna app que encontrarás en la Play Store como es APK Installer.

Logros casi imposibles

Mucha personalización y una buena cantidad de logros por realizar, aunque diría que hay alguna de locos. “A lo largo del camino” te obliga, si quieres, a rescatar hasta 10.000 poros. Una cifra casi insuperable pero que está ahí para que intentes realizarla. Si te gusta esperar mucho en esa lista de espera para LOL, seguramente que algún día lo consigas.

Por lo demás, poco más que decir sobre un endless runner con desplazamiento lateral, que podría pasar como un mini juego para League of Legends, pero que con ese periodo de disponibilidad hasta el 21 de septiembre lo convierte en uno indispensable para al menos probar.

Gráficos retro pixelados y con una calidad técnica bien aceptable con la que conseguiremos adentrarnos a través de los distintos niveles y parajes en las que campeones de League of Legends intentarán por todos los medios que los poros sigan vivos. Ah, si lo que quieres es un arcade con otros elementos y sensaciones pásate por Ramboat: Shooter Heroes.
