The first reviews for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain are coming in, and they’re exceptionally good. Exceptionally good. The game currently stands at a 96 on metacritic: the sort of score reserved for once in a console generation masterpieces. The game got 10s from both Gamespot and IGN. But there’s something you should now when looking at any of these reviews: they’re from a Konami review event, where journalists enter in to a set of controlled circumstances and then basically play the game in nonstop until their time is up. It’s a weird way to review any game, particularly something so big as Metal Gear Solid 5.

The reviews are rolling in, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is masterpiece. It’s received a host of high scores, currently landing it an extremely impressive 95 metascore, and Kojima’s last Metal Gear hurrah has made IGN and Gamespot give a perfect 10 to the same game for the first time since 2008’s GTA IV.

How Siri Saved This Man’s Life

Siri, the digital assistant feature on the Apple iPhone, can be very frustrating sometimes because it does not properly recognize many words — which causes the device to perform the wrong actions. However, Siri really comes to the rescue during emergency situations. Recently, Siri helped save the life of an eighteen-year-old named Sam Ray in Mufreesboro, Tennessee.
Ray was making repairs on a truck when the jack collapsed, causing the 5,000 pound vehicle to fall on him. Making things even more difficult, he was in a location where he could not be easily found. Ray called out for help, but nobody was around. While trying to get free, Ray accidentally hit the home button on his iPhone and noticed that Siri was activated. That is when he repeatedly told Siri to “call 911.” Siri had a hard time understanding Ray because the iPhone was in his pocket so his voice sounded muffled. After the fifth attempt, the call went through. Rutherford County dispatcher Christina Lee initially believed the call was a “pocket-dial,” but then realized it was a plea for help. Lee was able to figure out Ray’s location from the phone signal, but the responders could not figure out his exact address until Ray yelled it into the iPhone.
Shortly after the call was placed, volunteer firefighters arrived on the scene and pulled Ray out from under the truck. He had been pinned down for roughly 40 minutes. Ray’s injuries from the incident included a bruised kidney, a concussion, burns on one of his arms and broken ribs. Rick Miller, the chief of trauma and surgical care at Vanderbilt University, said that these injuries are sometimes fatal so Ray was lucky. Ray said he was thankful to be alive and that he plans to use an iPhone for the rest of his life, according to ABC. Here is a video about the incident by News Channel 5 in Nashville:

The offer is only available in the US and will run through October 31 of this year. One hundred dollars in Google Play credit may not sound like much, but that’s enough to buy nearly 50 paid games or apps or rent three dozen movies.

For those who aren’t aware, the HTC One M9 also comes with Uh Oh Protection, which allows you to replace your damaged phone one time within the first 12 months,  no questions asked. Uh Oh Protection also awards those who baby their phones by giving them $100 off the purchase of their next HTC One if they do not use the Uh Oh Protection plan. Add that to the $100 Google Play credit and the HTC One M9 is practically a steal.

Hoy comparamos a dos de los terminales más interesantes del mercado, que sin embargo, y aunque pueda parecer extraño, no tienen los precios desorbitados a los que nos tienen acostumbrados compañías de mayor “renombre”. Hablamos del OnePlus 2, que ya se puede comprar en tiendas sin invitación, y del Meiuz MX5, que por supuesto, también se puede comprar de la forma tradicional.

Dos dispositivos verdaderamente espectaculares dentro del terreno phablet, que suponen un importante punto de inflexión en el mercado, ya que hacen gala de características que en muchos casos están a la altura de los equipos más caros. El Meizu MX5 es un claro ejemplo de lo que esta compañía china pretende ser en el mundo de los smartphones. Un terminal con grandes especificaciones, que poco o nada tiene que envidiarle a los mejores del mercado, y todo ello, con un precio realmente contenido, como no podía ser de otra forma.

También debemos tener en cuenta que a día de hoy es bastante más barato, con un ahorro en torno a los 50/60 euros respecto a su rival, en este caso, el OnePlus 2.

En definitiva, cualquiera de los dos son excelentes opciones en estos momentos, de lo mejor en el terreno phablet siempre y cuando no pretendamos gastarnos los 600 euros o más que nos piden otras marcas. Puede que, sobre el papel, el OnePlus 2 sea un tanto superior, pero como ya hemos comprobado a lo largo de nuestros cientos de análisis, esto no siempre es lo mejor.

Así, nos encontramos con un Meizu MX5 que destaca por su gran calidad de pantalla y su autonomía, y por otro lado tenemos al OnePlus 2, con un rendimiento exquisito y un buen apartado fotográfico. En estas pequeñas diferencias debería basarse la decisión final de cada usuario, y así, la compra será más que acertada.
