Three Tensions In Healthcare: Guideline Fatigue, Patient Power, End Of Life Dollars

If there was any sense at all the improved data access and better sharing would encourage consumers to select care from that particular hospital, I suspect that more clinics would jump at the opportunity to provide it. Instead, and rather perversely, sticky data likely represents a business advantage for most hospitals, and unfortunately, one they seem reluctant to give up any time soon.

Microsoft’s Upcoming Lumia 950 and 950 XL Windows 10 Flagship Smartphones Pictured In Latest Leaks

With the successful launch of Windows 10 on the desktop out of the way, much of the attention focused on Microsoft has shifted to Windows 10 for Phones. At this point it has been nearly two years since truly new, flagship devices—packing cutting edge hardware—launched on Microsoft’s smartphone platform.  In some industries, that’s not a very long time, but in the mobile space two years in an eternity. Consider that in roughly the same amount of time, Samsung has pushed out four iterations of its Galaxy S devices (the Galaxy S4, S5, S6, and S6 Edge+) and you’ll understand how strange it is for a company like Microsoft to not attack the high-end of the market with a consistent influx of halo devices. A number of low-end and mainstream Windows Phone-based devices have been released, but no high-end products.

Google refreshes design of mobile web app search results

The Google Play app is an attractive way to search for applications, but the Play Store’s mobile web search counterpart has never quite looked as good. That is, until now.

Google is rolling out an updated mobile web app search that divides the results into a colorful grid. The grid is broken up into multi-colored boxes that include an app’s icon, its name, its rating, and its price. And, as you’d expect, tapping the box will kick you to the app’s page in Google Play for easy installation. You can also tap the expand button at the bottom of the screen to expand the list of apps.

The new results are nice because they highlight the app icon by placing it in its own box, and they’re also easy to read because the boxes are different colors. You can see the new-look results for yourself by searching “____ apps” in Google on your Android phone or tablet.

This past Monday was special for Facebook as the social network saw over a billion people using it on that day, something that has happened for the first time in the company’s history. The statistic was revealed by none other than Mark Zuckerberg himself.

“We just passed an important milestone. For the first time ever, one billion people used Facebook in a single day,” the CEO said in a Facebook post. “On Monday, 1 in 7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family.”

While Facebook has already achieved 1 billion monthly active users milestone, having the same number of people using the service in a single day is much more significant. According to official statistics, the social network had an average of 968 million daily active users and 1.49 billion monthly active users last…
