Más filtraciones detallan características del Google Nexus de LG y Huawei

Este año nos hallamos con algo insólito: dos terminales Google Nexus de similares características pero orientado cada uno a un público distinto. Lo cierto es que apuntan maneras y lo hemos podido observar en multitud de ocasiones mediante las filtraciones que han aparecido en la red, acercando el supuesto aspecto físico de la variante de Huawei o incluso la parte trasera del modelo de LG.

En esta ocasión, basándonos en la información que ha filtrado un conocido leaker, menciona nuevas características, que si bien parte de ellas ya conocíamos, otras son totalmente nuevas y nos permite dibujar en nuestras mentes cómo serán una vez pisen el mercado.

Características del Google Nexus de LG

Comenzando por el modelo algo más contenido, según OnLeaks el terminal de LG tiene unas dimensiones de 146.9×72.9×8/9.8mm, pantalla de 5,2 pulgadas, lector de huellas dactilares en la parte posterior y algo que es motivo de alegría: incorporación de USB Tipo-C junto, altavoces frontales y con un cuerpo metálico.

Por otro lado, respecto al modelo más potente y de mayor tamaño, disfrutaría de un cuerpo metálico también, unas dimensiones de 159.4×78.3×6.6/8.5mm, pantalla de 5,7 pulgadas, altavoces frontales, lector de huellas dactilares en la parte posterior y USB Tipo-C.

Similares, pero ambos muy distintos

Hasta ahora podíamos sospechar que ambos terminales compartirían ciertas características similares aunque con la construcción y lineas de diseño de cada fabricante, pero parece ser que no, serán muy similares y supuestamente siguiendo un patrón que ha marcado Google para los dos nuevos miembros de la familia Nexus.

La información es clara y cada vez surgen más detalles sobre ellos. Solo falta tener algo más de paciencia a que, en cualquier momento aparezcan las primeras imágenes reales y podamos dar por cerrado el tema sobre cómo serán los dispositivos Google Nexus que preparan LG y Huawei para este año.

UAProf shows Sony working on a 4K display for Xperia Z5+

Sony held back on screen resolution, staying on 1080p from the original Xperia Z to the Xperia Z3+ only going up to QHD with the Xperia Z4v. The company may be looking to jump to the front of the line with a 4K display.

A User Agent profile details the Sony E68XX group of phones. Those are expected to follow up the Xperia Z5 later on and bear the Xperia Z5+ name. The Z5+ is rumored to have a 5.5″ screen (or bigger), but even then a 4K screen will make for an insane 801ppi pixel density.

The profile also reveals the chipset – MSM8944, aka Snapdragon 810. Overheating concerns aside, we have certain doubts that Adreno 430 can drive a 4K display. To avoid confusion about labels 4K is 3,840 x 2,160px, the same as an UHD TV and over double the pixel count of a QHD display (4x a 1080p screen).

Sharp has already announced a 5.5″ 4K LCD expected in 2016 though Sony could use a different supplier. ZTE may also be in the 4K race.

Google’s Project Fi replaces your damaged Nexus 6 for just $100

Google’s become a carrier of sorts in the US earlier this year, through its Project Fi venture. Since Fi operates on both T-Mobile and Sprint’s networks, there are some hardware and software tweaks needed for a device to work with this carrier, which is why up until now the Motorola Nexus 6 has been the only supported phone.

Interestingly, it’s now been revealed that if you are a Project Fi customer and have purchased your Nexus 6 from the carrier, you can benefit from a pretty neat perk.

Namely, if your Nexus 6 becomes damaged for whatever reason, Project Fi will replace it for you for a fee of just $100, no questions asked. As you may have expected, there are caveats here. First and foremost, this is all a one-time thing. So you can’t keep replacing phones after the first one.

Second, your replacement request has to happen within one year of the moment you bought your Nexus 6 from Project Fi. After that, you won’t be able to take advantage of this…
