7 unique Qi wireless charging accessories everyone should own
When shopping for a new phone, processor, screen size, battery life and camera quality are typically the most important specs to consider, but there are many who would argue that wireless charging should make the list as well. There are a handful of competing wireless charging standards, but Qi is currently leading the charge. Most flagship smartphones in 2015 come with Qi compatibility or are built so that users can add Qi charging to the device by purchasing a replaceable back panel or adding in a Qi wireless receiver module.
Wireless charging is currently slower than using the microUSB plug to charge your phone. Snapdragon 820 GPU goes official: Adreno 530 is fast, cool
Snapdragon 810 proved both its parent company, Qualcomm, and client phone makers in a very tough spot. The company can see the light at the end of the tunnel though and revealed some official info about the Snapdragon 820.
First things first – I will use custom 64-bit Kryo cores, bye bye Cortex. But what the company has revealed is mostly about the GPU and ISP.
The Snapdragon 820 will use the new generation Adreno 530 GPU, Snapdragon 618 and 620 will use 510. All 5-series Adrenos will support OpenGL 3.1 (with 3.2 coming later) and the new Vulcan API. Qualcomm claims a 40% jump in performance along with a 40% cut in power usage. The Adreno 510 GPU should deliver similar improvements over the 405.
Part of that will come from the new process – not official yet, but we’re likely looking at 14nm or 16nm chips (down from 20nm for the S810). Another power efficiency boost comes from a standalone power manager for the GPU.
The GPUs support HDMI 2.0 and up to 4K @ 60fps output, they’ll even manage 4K output wirelessly (though capped at 30fps).
Another upgraded part of Snapdragon 820 is the ISP. The Spectra camera Image Signal Processor is to handle small camera pixels better, hybrid autofocus (i.e. added phase detection AF), low-light performance and leaning on the GPU for software “optical zoom.”
Like the Snapdragon 810, the 820 will feature support for dual cameras on the back. But this time they can have different focal lengths. The ISP and GPU will simulate zoom steps in between both focal lengths to achieve a smooth transition similar to proper optical zoom.
That’s the official info for now, there’s nothing on the Kryo cores, not even how many of them will be in the S820 (seems like 4 for now). There’s nothing on connectivity either, though at this point carriers are well behind even current chipsets in LTE.
Devices based on Snapdragon 820 are expected to be available in 1H 2016.

Elephone M2, el terminal más premium de Elephone
Elephone está sacando varios terminales en estos últimos meses muy interesantes, ya hemos visto en su familia de productos, el Elephone P7000 o la versión mejorada, el P8000. Ahora la compañía nos vuelve a sorprender presentando el que es, sin duda, el terminal más premium de este fabricante con sede en Hong Kong.
Hasta la fecha de hoy, la compañía ha lanzado varios terminales con un buen hardware y a un precio rompedor. Estos dispositivos además cuentan con un buen soporte por parte de la compañía, actualizando los terminales a la última versión de Android 5.1 Lollipop, solucionando errores y poniendo varias funcionalidades que hacen que los terminales de Elephone se distingan de sus competidores.
Quizás uno de los puntos negativos de este fabricante son los materiales de construcción de sus dispositivos. Estos materiales dejan que desear, pero hacen que el terminal sea mucho más asequible para el consumidor. Ahora la compañía quiere lanzar un dispositivo potente, asequible y que tenga unos materiales de constricción Premium, por ello lanzará próximamente su nuevo Elephone M2.
Elephone M2, el más premium de la casa
Este nuevo teléfono móvil de la gama M de la marca china tiene una similitud con los móviles de alta gama de Huawei. Es habitual ver como los fabricantes chinos, fabriquen sus dispositivos con la apariencia de otros terminales ya existentes y de las compañías más veteranas del sector, como Apple, Samsung, Huawei, HTC, Sony y un largo etcétera.
Dejando atrás su aspecto físico , vemos como el terminal M2 incorporará una pantalla de 5,5 pulgadas bajo una resolución FullHD. En su interior incorpora un SoC fabricado por MediaTek con el procesador Octa-Core y arquitectura de 64 Bits, el MT6753 y un chipset Mali T720 para los gráficos. Elephone no ha dado más información sobre las futuras especificaciones de este terminal, así que no sabemos que memoria de RAM tendrá, ni de cuantos megapíxeles será su cámara, ni capacidad de la batería, etc… Lo que si que sabemos es que el Elephone M2 tendrá lector de huella dactilares y unos materiales de construcción muy premium a la altura de los terminales más caros que nos podemos encontrar en el mercado.
Desgraciadamente no conocemos ningún detalle más con respecto al dispositivo, por lo que habrá que esperar a que, la empresa saque un comunicado oficial con el listado de especificaciones así como también la disponibilidad y su precio. En este último punto hay que comentar que, hasta ahora, Elephone, nos tiene acostumbrado a que sus terminales estén por debajo de los 200 €, pero en este caso, su terminal será más caro debido a sus materiales de construcción.

Filtradas las especificaciones del Nexus 5: cuerpo metálico, pantalla de 5,2″, altavoces frontales, sensor huellas dactilares y USB Type-C
El año pasado nos quedamos con las ganas de poder acceder a un nuevo Nexus 5 que no tuviera ese gran espacio en la pantalla como si lo ha sido el Nexus 6. Un Nexus 5 que cuando fue lanzado supuso todo un éxito de ventas para Google con las primeras unidades vendidas de inmediato y que, aunque no tuvo los problemas de distribución del Nexus 4, sí que no fue fácil su compra en los primeros días o semanas.
Este año sí sabemos que tendremos un nuevo Nexus 5 del que hemos sabido algunas especificaciones y que será la propia LG la encargada de su desarrollo. Hoy mismo tenemos una filtración que llega con la información sobre alguna de sus partes más importantes como son ese cuerpo en metálico, una pantalla de 5,2 pulgadas, altavoces estéreo frontales, sensor de huellas dactilares y USB type-C. Ah y tenemos las dimensiones también, esto a continuación.
Un nuevo Nexus 5 muy deseado
Este nuevo Nexus se encuentra ahora como uno de los dispositivos más deseados por muchos usuarios. Primero, por aquellos que esperaron que el año pasado tuviéramos una nueva edición y se encontraron con la sorpresa del Nexus 6 con esa gran pantalla de mayores dimensiones, y segundo, por aquellos que van a cumplir dos años con su Nexus 5 del 2013 y desean ya cambiarlo para actualizarlo debidamente al hardware que disponemos a día de hoy.
Aparte de que no a todo el mundo le gusta tener un smartphone de 6 pulgadas para no poder manejarlo con soltura, por lo que este nuevo Nexus 5 de LG seguramente que se venda como churros en el momento que esté disponible. Otro punto a su favor es que contará con la nueva versión Android M lanzada al mismo tiempo en el que esté disponible.
Por lo que todas las expectativas están al máximo para un nuevo teléfono Nexus de la mano de LG que vuelve a estar entre los fabricantes que trabajan mano a mano con Google.
Unas dimensiones un poco mayores para un 5,2 pulgadas
Las dimensiones del teléfono son 146,9 x 72,9 x 8/9,8 milímetros, por lo que será un 5,2 pulgadas de una pinta un poco grande, pero no llegará a lo que es el Nexus 6. Como dice el propio filtrador, este tamaño puede ser por tener dos altavoces frontales estéreo, que por otra parte conseguirá que tenga una gran calidad en el audio proveniente del teléfono.
Las demás características que han sido filtradas por @Onleaks son: cuerpo en metal, pantalla de 5,2 pulgadas, altavoces frontales estéreo, sensor de huellas dactilares y USB type-C. Lo que nos queda saber cual será la capacidad de batería que integrará LG en este nuevo Nexus 5, ya que esto seguramente signifique que estemos ante una de las mejores adquisiciones del momento.
El otro punto que sería a su favor sería un chip Snapdragon 810. Ahora esperemos que LG pueda realizar lo mismo que consiguió Sony cuando fue capaz de poner una batería de 2930-3200 mAh en un teléfono de similares dimensiones.
