BMW E-Car Drivers Asked To Delay Charging In San Francisco

Just as word comes that all-electric vehicles now take a paltry 0.4-percent share of the U.S. auto market, BMW has announced a way that EV purchasers can make up at least a part of the sticker premium they’re paying to purchase a BMW i3: Allow recharging of their cars to be interrupted by the needs of the collective “grid.”

HTC One M9 gets Android 5.1 update tomorrow in Europe

HTC's One M9 has already received its update to Android 5.1 Lollipop in the US – whether from AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or even HTC itself for the developer edition of the phone.

And thankfully it's now set to become available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as well. The rollout for the new software will commence in these regions tomorrow, according to Graham Wheeler, HTC's Product and Service Director.

He just excitedly tweeted the news, letting all One M9 owners in the aforementioned regions prepare for the big day tomorrow. There have been no additional details made public about the update at this time, but at least we now know it's close.

We assume that Android 5.1 will reach HTC One M9 units sold in other regions too at some point in the future, but it's still unclear when that will…

Valve is hosting the international championship for DOTA 2 this week, and that means plenty of professional level MOBA action for anyone interested. Luckily, because this is an eSport and not some stodgy old physical sport, there are myriad ways to stream the entire thing online in multiple languages. The best way to watch would probably be the official DOTA 2 page, which provides not only the streams you can find elsewhere, but also live stats and brackets. Twitch is an option, as always, in multiple languages,  as is ESPN3. You can also stream on Youtube directly, or watch the handy embedded version below:

Live image allegedly shows the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact

Earlier today Sony announced a press event for September 2 during IFA. It is there where the next flagship Xperia smartphone is expected to be unveiled. This is probably going to be called Xperia Z5, and it could be the first in the line to come with a fingerprint scanner.

The leaked image you can see below is purportedly depicting the Xperia Z5 to the right of an iPhone 6, while the Z5 Compact is said to be to the left of Apple's handset.

As there's no way to confirm this picture's authenticity, a healthy dose of salt is required for this one. If it is the real deal, however, then we're looking at the first two Xperias with fingerprint sensors.

These will be embedded in the power buttons of Sony's new phones, which will be located on the right side of each handset – a placement which hasn't changed in years. This would also be the first time a company puts a fingerprint sensor on the side of a device. We've seen a lot of designs that embed it in the Home button below the screen, and others which go for a rear-placed sensor under the camera. And now this.

The Xperia Z5 seems to also have a dedicated camera shutter button, and the volume buttons are under the power button, all on the same right side. Additionally, the leaker of this image says the Z5 line will not feature the USB Type-C…

OnePlus prepara un tercer smartphone que saldrá antes de finales de año, ¿ OnePlus Mini ?

OnePlus con el poco tiempo de experiencia que tiene el sector de la telefonía móvil está dando mucho que hablar durante estos últimos días. Hace unos días atrás veíamos como, este fabricante chino, presentaba su próximo terminal, el OnePlus 2, un terminal que tan sólo se puede adquirir ( por el momento ) mediante invitación.

Ahora llegan nuevos rumores que apuntan a que el fabricante estaría preparando un tercer terminal que se dará a conocer antes de que finalice el año, probablemente durante las Navidades. 

Esta nueva información viene gracias a una entrevista realizada en el USA Today al CEO de OnePlus, Carl Pei. El Directivo habló sobre el buen recibimiento que está teniendo el OnePlus 2 y es que, este smartphone ha conseguido más de un millón de reservas tras su lanzamiento. Pei habló de todo un poco y dio algún que otro dato interesante para los próximos meses, también explicó la ausencia de NFC en la segunda generación de su dispositivo.

 

¿ One Plus Mini ?

Aunque el máximo responsable de esta firma china no dio muchos más detalles sobre el futuro tercer dispositivo, si que comentó que el dispositivo sería impresionante y que podría tener o no las mismas especificaciones que el OnePlus 2. Esto ha hecho que, el rumor sobre una versión Mini del primer terminal de la compañía el OnePlus vuelva a resurgir.

Sea como sea, el smartphone que saldrá a finales de año será el tercero de toda la historia de OnePlus. Veremos finalmente si se trata de una versión Mini o de una versión Plus del actual OnePlus 2. Descartamos pues, la opción de que sea un OnePlus 3 ya que no sería lógico que un fabricante presentase dos generaciones de un mismo terminal en menos de 6 meses.

También podemos tener en cuenta el rumor que salió hace unos meses sobre la posibilidad de que el terminal chino tuviese doble pantalla, una de ellas de tinta electrónica. Si esto fuese así finalmente sería un dispositivo muy interesante ya que, actualmente en el marcado tan sólo encontramos YotaPhone 2.

One Plus Two concept

Con este nuevo terminal, OnePlus muestra sus cartas a los fabricantes más expertos en el territorio como Samsung o Apple. Veremos de aquí a finales de año como acaba todo este tema, pero una cosa está clara y es que, OnePlus tiene muchas ganas de ganar territorio en un sector donde la competencia está muy reñida.
