One of the year’s most anticipated Android devices, the OnePlus 2, is official. And it’s launching August 11 in the US, Canada, India, EU, China and other select markets.
While the OnePlus One wasn’t without its fair share of problems, there’s no denying the device set the bar for what an independent company could provide in a handset. The OnePlus Two will carry that torch forward, with impressive specs and what is being teased as a conservative price — we don’t actually know how much yet. Hardware wise, the OnePlus 2 comes with:
On top of improved specs over the OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2 comes with plenty of design improvements as well, sporting metal and customizable buttons, and a sleek magnesium bezel that’s met by a removable and customizable battery door on the rear. It also comes with an alert slider that can be set to all notifications, priority only or silent. You’ll notice that the OnePlus 2 uses a 1080p display. The display is indeed different than the display on the OnePlus One, and was chosen to preserve battery life.
Software wise, the OnePlus 2 runs OxygenOS based on the latest version of Android with a handful of enhancements to support things like the OnePlus 2′s 13-megapixel camera and fingerprint reader.
Going up against handsets like the Galaxy Note 5, the next Nexus and the 2015 Moto X won’t be easy, but it looks like OnePlus is in it to win it. You can buy the OnePlus 2 on August 11 in the US, Canada, India, China and European Union, if you have an invite. We’ll be sharing more details on that once they’re made available.

I recently came a across a long-gestating documentary, and spoke to its director / producer. Ironically, he can’t finish the project because of the very topic he is covering.

Twitter's iOS app has received an update, bumping it to version 6.33. The update brings along a couple of new features, including support for interactive notifications and the ability to access saved drafts while composing a tweet.
The interactive notifications that the update brings "let you engage on Twitter while using other apps," the company says. The alerts now feature new buttons, allowing you to easily favorite or reply to a tweet – this is all thanks to the new APIs Apple introduced with iOS 8.
The version 6.33 also makes it easy for you to access drafts while composing tweets, something which you can do by tapping on the quill icon that appears above the typing field. The updated app is now available for download from the App Store.

Samsung has officially announced that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on August 13 at Lincoln Center in New York. The event will be live streamed on YouTube, the company confirmed.
Although there was no word on what the South Korean company will unveil at the event, the teaser image (shown above) accompanying the announcement clearly hints towards a device with curved display, presumably the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. In addition, the Galaxy Note 5 could also be announced as the Note series is also due for a refresh.
In case you've missed, both handsets have already posed in front of a camera, besides having their specifications…

Big names have been touting big fears about the implications of a future in which artificial intelligence plays a bigger role, and now those same folks — including Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk — have been joined by others, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in signing an open letter calling for a ban on offensive autonomous weapons.

‘Hard Ceilings’ Doomed Past Societies
There were firm ceilings on the amount of energy that humans’ first two energy sources, foraging and farming, could provide. We do not know — yet — if there is also a hard ceiling over what is possible in fossil fuel societies, but the implication of history seems to be that there is.

While the next generation Moto G has been leaking a lot lately, we've seen a much smaller number of reveals about the Moto X (3rd gen), which is also due to be outed this year – perhaps even tomorrow, at Motorola's special event.
We have had quite a few instances in which pictures of the next Moto X got out – even live images not long ago. As for the specs, we now have a new list of those from a source of a lot of Moto-related stuff.
The Moto X (3rd gen) is said to have a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 21 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front snapper, and a 3,600 mAh battery. It will have a microSD card slot, and there will be a model with dual-SIM functionality too. It will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop from day one.
Interestingly, this report contradicts a few previous ones when it comes to the display. So far we've been led to believe that this year's Moto X will sport a 5.2-inch QHD panel. But it looks like Motorola could have gone bigger, while keeping the resolution of last year's handset.
As for the battery, past mumblings had it at 3,280 mAh, but we assume nobody will complain if it's actually going to be a whopping 3,600 mAh. Even the main camera was said to be 16 MP at one point. Today's revelation comes with no information about RAM, but it's been rumored to be 4GB, and the SoC in charge could be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810.
One of the new things coming to the Moto X line in 2015 is allegedly going to be the color version you can see in the picture above. And there may also be a front-facing LED flash for perfect selfies in there.

I have widely covered how data and analytics are changing the recruitment landscape. So far, most of the focus has been on filling low and mid-tier vacancies – such as Xerox and their work to find the best candidates for call centre positions. But what about filling the most senior vacancies – the “C-suite” of CEOs, CFOs, CMOs and other chiefs in your organization?
