Will Elite Athletes Use A Social Networking Site To Avoid Scams, Agree Deals & Plan For Retirement?

A few months back I wrote about how ex-Manchester United and France soccer star Louis Saha had founded a start-up, Axis Stars, a social networking platform focussed on getting a fairer deal for athletes when they negotiate contracts with clubs, agents and sponsors, buy luxury goods, make investments or plan for a comfortable retirement.

The PS4/Xbox One Console War Has Taken A Decidedly Stupid Turn

The first real video game console war was detailed expertly in one of my favorite non-fiction books, aptly titled “Console Wars” by Blake J. Harris. It’s a story of drama, suspense, and even intrigue, and shows how Nintendo eventually bested SEGA to knock the rival company out of the console game. There are funny parts about how SEGA built Sonic the Hedgehog from scratch to compete with Mario (Sonic originally had fangs, a guitar and a busty girlfriend), and intense moments like when SEGA realized the Saturn was doomed once they understood Nintendo had the 64 on the horizon with the original PlayStation not far behind.

Nintendo Just Filed A Patent For A Bizzare New Device

Here’s what we do know: Nintendo is planning on changing things up, and soon. The legendary game developer has been pretty tight-lipped about its new “NX” console along with its “Quality of Life” initiative, promising only to tell us more about them in 2016. A new patent filing unearthed by a NeoGaf user, however, gives us an early glimpse at just what the company is planning. I’d say it was out of left field, but Nintendo basically just lives out there, hurling balls for us to catch whenever we’re up to it. From what I can tell, it appears to be a device that turns sleep into something like a video game. Here’s the abstract (the only part of the patent application in English):

Moto G (3rd gen) appears in new images with specs alongside

Leaks of the upcoming Motorola Moto G have been abounding and today brings one of the biggest yet. The folks at laptopmedia.com have managed to get their hands on a working unit and have posted multiple pictures in addition to a full specs sheet for the device. The design is what we expected, with minor changes to the back including a textured shell and an oval-shaped accent surrounding the camera.

On the specs side, you’ll find a 5-inch 720p display, 1.36GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB RAM, 8/16GB storage plus a microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE, 2470mAh battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop with a few of Motorola’s tweaks thrown on top. The upgrades over last year’s model aren’t terribly large, but they should be enough to satisfy.

It should also be noted that even though the specs may not have significant upgrades, a primary selling point of the new Moto G will be Moto Maker support. Customers will be able to customize and create their perfect Moto G, a perk that was previously reserved for the high-end Moto X. As a whole, the 3rd gen Moto G should be a big hit that’s easy on the wallet.

We’ll keep you posted on further updates before the official event next Tuesday. In the meantime, you can check out some more pictures by following the source link.
