Back in March of this year, Silent Circle officially unveiled the Blackphone 2, a souped-up version of the original device that still focuses primarily on security and encryption.
Now Silent Circle has another announcement to make: The Blackphone 2, when it launches later this year, will officially support Android for Work, which allows individuals the option to use their own Android-based device as their work handset by separating their work apps from the personal options installed on the handset. With Android for Work, users will also be able to keep their work profile completely separate from their personal one, making sure that all of the data is segregated accordingly.
Considering the focus on security that the Blackphone 2 offers, its inclusion with Android for Work is not that big of a surprise. Still, it’s a good bullet point for Silent Circle to promote as the launch of the handset gets ever closer. As a refresher, the Blackphone 2 features a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor under the hood. It boasts 3GB of RAM and a battery measured in at 3060mAh. On the back, there’s a 13-megapixel camera, with a 5MP front-facing shooter on the other side. It’ll run Silent OS over Android. Silent Circle has previously said the device will retail for $629.
On another note, Google has recently announced that its laundry list of businesses and other entities that support Android for Work has grown significantly, with the inclusion of 40 more companies, ranging from wireless carriers, app makers, manufacturers and more.
That includes the likes of AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, Bell Canada, Rogers, and others.

Los smartphones y tablets, tanto con Android o con cualquier otro sistema operativo se han convertido de la noche al día en las nuevas consolas portátiles. Esto se debe ante la abrumadora cantidad de títulos que disponen en los interminables catálogos de las tiendas de aplicaciones como Google Play. Pero uno de los mejores métodos para disfrutar como debe ser de estos títulos es adquirir un mando de juegos, los llamados gamepads.
Actualmente los hay de todo tipo, gama más alta y por tanto más caros o todo lo contrario, gama más baja y más económicos. Algunos que hemos hecho mención han sido el económico Xiami Gamepad, el SteelSeries Stratus XL y uno no al alcance de todos, el Mad Catz LYNX que cuenta con unas características sin igual.
Otro fabricante y muy destacado de periféricos por su trayectoria y calidad es Razer, el mismo que en estos tiempos está apostando por Android y ahora ha lanzado al mercado su mando de juegos llamado Serval, que cuenta también con unas características para los jugadores casuales o los más activos.
Su aspecto, similar a un mando de Xbox 360, cuenta con unos botones ABXY, un D-Pad, palancas analógicas, dos gatillos y botones adicionales en la parte central para la navegación en el sistema operativo Android. Su conexión es Bluetooth 3.0, cable microUSB de 1.5 metros, 4 botones de acción con tecnología Hyperesponse, clip de juego ajustable –para acoplar el smartphone–, indicador LED de jugador, botones de reproducción de medios y una batería recargable opcional.
De hecho, el mando de juegos está diseñado para ser usado en Android TV y en su propio dispositivo, el llamado Forge TV. Con él, puedes realizar una transmisión de los juegos desde tu ordenador a tu Forge TV aunque aún no está disponible, pero es cuanto menos interesante.
El Razer Serval tiene un precio fijado de 80 dólares, actualmente alrededor de los 73 euros. No es el más económico, pero sí ofrece unas características muy interesantes y no sólo se limita a smartphones, también puede ser usado en Android TV, un extra muy importante.
Teóricamente el dispositivo saldrá a la venta en la Google Store, pero aunque disponemos de el enlace ésta aún no muestra el producto ni su ficha técnica, por lo que deberemos recurrir a otras alternativas para realizar la compra.
