Microsoft outs free 90-day trial for Windows 10

Yesterday was the big launch day for Windows 10, the latest version of Microsoft's ubiquitous operating system. As promised, updates to the new OS are free if you're coming from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

But what if you are on an older iteration, or if you run Linux? Or if you aren't sure if Windows 10 is for you?

Well, in that case, you can grab a free 90-day trial of the new OS. That's right, Microsoft is also offering people three months of use of Windows 10 for free. There are caveats here, though.

First off, it's the Enterprise edition that you can test drive. This means most of the apps that come with Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro are nowhere to be found. Let's name a few of the ones you'll be missing: Mail, People, Calendar, Photos, and even Cortana.

Oh, and you won't even get the Windows app store, so you'll have to get your software the old-fashioned way, by downloading installer files from third parties and then running them.

All of this is happening because, as its name implies, Windows 10 Enterprise edition isn't really meant for consumers to use. It's geared at Microsoft's corporate customers – but that doesn't mean you can't try it out yourself. Just be aware of the aforementioned limitations.

Rovio Is Channeling ‘Candy Crush’ In ‘Angry Birds 2’

It’s a little strange that the thirteenth game in the Angry Birds series is Angry Birds 2, but Rovio is trying to make this installment a big new splash for the aging franchise. Angry Birds has had an insane amount of spin-offs over the last few years, but the original remains high up in Apple and Google’s app charts to this day.

Estos renders muestran cómo será el diseño del Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Ya queda menos para el próximo 13 de agosto, fecha en la que se espera que Samsung presente al nuevo Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Poco a poco se han ido desvelando algunos de los secretos del nuevo miembro de la familia Note y ahora os traemos nuevas imágenes.

Esta vez no son imágenes reales, pero tienen un peso muy especial: y es que estos renders están basados en las imágenes que se han ido filtrando a lo largo de las últimas semanas, mostrándonos cómo podría ser el diseño final del Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Como siempre que se filtra información de este tipo, hay que coger los renders del Galaxy Note 5 con pinzas. Pero si tenemos en cuenta que, desde que descubrimos que el fabricante coreano adelantaba la presentación de su nuevo buque insignia al 13 de agosto, las filtraciones no han parado de crecer, es bastante probable que las imágenes que se han ido filtrando no sean un fake y por lo tanto estos renders concuerden bastante con el aspecto final que tendrá el Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

Como era de esperar el diseño del Samsung Galaxy Note 5 es muy parecido al del Galaxy S6, variando en el tamaño y poco más. Nada nuevo bajo el sol.

En cuanto a las características técnicas, por ahora se mantiene lo que se ha ido filtrando en las últimas semanas. De esta manera se espera que el Samsung Galaxy Note 5 cuente con una pantalla de 5.7 pulgada sque alcanzará una resolución 2K o incluso 4K.

Os puede parecer exagerado el uso de una pantalla 4K, pero si tenemos en cuenta que Samsung quiere aprovechar por la realidad virtual, es lógico que quieran integrar una pantalla de estas características en el nuevo titán de la familia Note.

Bajo el capó se espera una de las soluciones de Samsung. Por un lado se habla del Exynos 7422, una bestia todo en uno que integra CPU, GPU, RAM y alamcenamiento pero por otro lado también se habla de la posibilidad de que Samsung utilice su chip 7430.

Se habla de que Samsung está trabajando con varios modelos con este último chip, aunque no es más quye un prototipo y es más que probable que no esté listo a tiempo por lo que el Exynos 7422 tiene muchos más números para ser el encargado de hacer latir al nuevo Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

Lo que sí está más claro es que el Note  5 contará con 4 GB de memoria RAM DDR4, la más rápida del mercado, además de contar con dos cámara de la máxima calidad: la cámara frontal rondará los 16 o los 20 megapíxeles y ofrecerá un rendimiento muy semejante a las del Galaxy S6. En cuanto a la cámara frontal, se espera un sensor de unos 5 u 8 megapíxeles.
