Google Now on Android lets you speak your WhatsApp or Viber messages

Ever since it launched on Android, Google Now has allowed you to send texts with your voice. But so far this has used Hangouts, Google's default texting application on Android. Up until today you have not been able to use Google Now's voice recognition features to send messages to your contacts on WhatsApp, Viber, or other third-party apps.

Now though you can do just that. The new feature currently works with WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat, Telegram, and NextPlus.

To send a message in one of these apps by using your voice, simply say something like "OK Google, send a WhatsApp message to Joe" – after which you will be asked to dictate the contents of that message.

Like all Google Now features, this will work from your home screen if you have listening activated. Alternatively, you can just hop into the Google app and start speaking, or use the Google Now shortcut if you have an Android device with software-rendered buttons.

Qualcomm figures out wireless charging for metal devices

Wireless charging is a great technology, and one that I use everywhere I go. I have a charger at home and in the car, and I don’t plan on going back to cables. But there are a few drawbacks to wireless charging, like charging speed and the inability for metal devices to charge wirelessly. The speed issue has been resolved courtesy of Qi, but what about metal devices?

Qualcomm has gotten past that with its WiPower technology, which allows the charging to pass through metal. This means premium devices like the HTC One may have wireless charging in the future! It can also charge devices requiring up to 22 watts, so it doesn’t skimp on speed.

With all of these different wireless charging standards, it’ll be tough for consumers. WiPower is based on the Rezence standard, though it isn’t mentioned whether it works with the Qi standard (likely not). Will it make it to devices, or will Qi still rule?

Hace ya tiempo que tenía ganas de realizar la review de este terminal que os anuncié ya hace algún tiempo a modo de exclusiva, y es que por fin hemos probado y revisado el Doogee Valencia 2 Y 100 Pro, o lo que es lo mismo, el terminal por el que la compañía de origen chino apuesta para ganar la dura batalla de la gama baja Android.

Lo mejor de este Doogee Valencia 2 Y 100 Pro

Sin duda alguna, lo mejor de este Doogee Valencia 2 Y 100 Pro, a parte de encontrarlo directamente en su precio de venta al público, un precio verdaderamente increíble e imbatible en su rango de gama, lo podemos encontrar en su atractivo diseño y en su pantalla de gran calidad con una luminosidad y nivel de brillo, incluso en el exterior y a plena luz que nada tiene que envidiar a terminales de gama media alta Android y mucho más caros que él.

Por otro lado, es toda una ventaja que por tan solo un poquito más de 100 Euros podamos contar con todo un terminal Quad Core, o sea un cuatro núcleos y 2 GB de memoria RAM que la verdad es que sientan muy bien a este Doogee Valencia 2 Y 100 Pro.

Otro de los aspectos fuertes de este nuevo terminal de Doogee llamado a ser el rey en la gama baja o incluso media Android, es el hecho de tener la memoria interna sin particionar, lo que nos lleva a tener más que espacio suficiente para poder instalar todas las aplicaciones que queramos, y más considerando su soporte para Micro SD de hasta 128 Gb y la posibilidad que Android 5.1 Lollipop nos brinda de poder volver a mover los datos de aplicaciones pesadas como lo juegos a la tarjeta de almacenamiento externo.

Por último, en cuanto aspectos positivos, podemos añadir a su cámara, tanto la delantera como la trasera y siempre que nos encontremos en exteriores o en ambientes con mucha luminosidad a la vez que el espectacular sonido que nos ofrece el altavoz trasero de este Doogee Valencia 2 Y 100 Pro.

La verdad es que tengo muy poquitas cosas que decir negativas del Doogee Valencia 2 Y 100 Pro, quizás la batería un poquitín ajustada con tan solo 2.200 mAh aunque por otra parte, con una pantalla de 5″ con resolución que se queda en HD, es totalmente capaz de sin apenas esfuerzo aguantar todo un duro día de uso.

Por otra parte, aunque haya incluido en aspectos positivos sus cámaras en buenas condiciones de luminosidad, también debo incluirla en el apartado de lo peor del Doogee Valencia 2 Y 100 Pro si esta la usamos en interiores poco iluminados o en exteriores por la noche.

Unprecedented Move: Apple’s Beats By Dre Publishes Customer Support Videos Natively In Twitter

Yesterday Apple made customer support history with its Beats By Dre support videos tweeted out natively in Twitter. With the purchase of Beats by Dre came the Twitter account @BeatsSupport. Post-Beats acquisition there is now a disconnect between the customer support you get from the Beats brand and the customer support you get from the Apple brand. Beats By Dre is very active in social media with a Twitter account, Facebook and even Snapchat. Apple HQ is now responsible for Beats By Dre customer support so you can assume that the AppleCare team was instrumental in creating the @BeatsSupport Twitter video strategy.

Intel And Micron Jointly Announce Game-Changing 3D XPoint Memory Technology

In the semiconductor industry there are often break-through, game-changing technologies that are unveiled and then there are the sort of absolute thermonuclear detonations like Intel and Micron just jointly announced. At a morning press conference in San Francisco, Intel and Micron unveiled 3D XPoint (Cross Point) memory technology, a non-volatile memory architecture so disruptive it could very well change the entire landscape of consumer and enterprise computing in very short order–from laptops and desktops, to enterprise servers, game consoles and hand-held devices. The bulk of current gen solid state storage requirements for computer architectures are serviced by NAND Flash technology, which offers dramatically faster read and write response times over mechanical hard drives, at the expense of capacity and cost primarily but also it’s still one of the slower bottlenecks in a given device architecture.
