A couple of years after it was first launched, the eBay Now same-day shipping service is being retired by the company in the United States.

"While we saw encouraging results with the eBay Now service, we always intended it as a pilot, and we are now exploring delivery and pick-up/drop-off programs that are relevant to many more of our 25 million sellers, and that cover a wider variety of inventory that consumers tell us they want," eBay said in a blog post.

In addition, the company is also decommissioning some its apps, including Valet, Fashion, and Motors, saying that the key functionality from these apps will be integrated into the flagship eBay app. While the first two will be killed in the coming weeks, the last will be decommissioned later this year.

New Galaxy S6/S6 Edge update brings battery improvements

T-Mobile has pushed out an update to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge that it claims brings battery improvements along with various bug fixes and device improvements. The update, however, doesn't include any new features.

Carrying build number G920TUVU2COF8, the update is gradually rolling out over-the-air for users of Samsung's latest flagship devices on the magenta carrier. If you haven't yet received a notification for the update, you can manually check for it by heading to your device's settings.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are also getting an update in France (build number G920FXXU2BOG8 and G925FXXU2BOGB, respectively). That update is also said to address battery life issues.

Periscope for iOS update brings the ability to mute notifications

Twitter has updated the iOS version of its Periscope video streaming app with a couple of new features, including the ability to mute notifications and control language settings. The update bumps the app to version 1.1.3.

The updated app contains a new notification setting that allows you to mute those who broadcast too often – their broadcasts will still appear in your feed, but you will not receive push notifications when they go live.

In addition, you'll now also be able to set your language preference in your profile settings, something which will in turn influence which broadcasts appear in your global list. Moving on, the new version also displays viewer statistics when you view your past broadcasts.

And finally, the update also adds Handsoff support, allowing you to easily switch between devices while watching a broadcast. All that's required is that the devices should be running iOS 8 or OS X, have Bluetooth turned on, and are logged in to the same iCloud account.
