Dropbox snaps up enterprise communication start-up Clementine

Dropbox has acquired Clementine, a San Francisco-based start-up that was founded just last year and focuses on providing workplace communication services (like text chat and conference calls) in a secure way – users can communicate with each other without exchanging phone numbers.

"Our mission and passion for workplace collaboration remains the same," Clementine said in a blog post announcing the news. "Our stage will grow dramatically as Dropbox builds on our technology to engage with its over 400 million users and 100,000 businesses."

As part of the acquisition – which includes both technology and talent – Clementine will be shutting down its services, although the free portions will remain active for current users until August 31. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Callaway Golf’s Big Bertha Mini 1.5 Driver: A Fantastic Tee Box Alternative

Those of you watching last week’s Open Championship from St. Andrews’ Old Course in Scotland may have noticed how many Tour pros were bypassing their full-sized drivers to use smaller-headed alternatives on some holes. Several of these bulked-up long irons and miniature drivers have hit the market in the past year. They’re built to give you more accuracy than a standard-sized driver, with nearly all of the distance. I’ve personally played TaylorMade’s SLDR Mini since last Fall, favoring it on tight driving holes, as well as off the deck on long approaches. For whatever reason, I get psyched out trying to hit a 3-wood, but this TaylorMade club gives me the visual confidence I need to attack.
