Should You Pre-Order ‘Starcraft: Legacy of The Void’ Just To Play ‘Whispers Of Oblivion?’

Blizzard just released a tantalizing pre-order bonus for Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void, the third and final installment in the Starcraft 2 trilogy. It’s a short prologue campaign called Whispers of Oblivion, following series regular Zeratul through a brief intro to the Protoss campaign. It’s a meatier pre-order bonus than most of the alternate costume business we usually see, with three full single-player missions. They’ll also be released free when Legacy of the Void launches, however, so what you’re really paying for is the ability to scratch that Starcraft itch a little bit (or maybe a lot) early. Pre-orders are a tricky business, always, and this is no exception. Sure, that itch needs scratching. But is it worth it to plunk down those $40 early dollars for three missions?
