New HTC One (M9) renders surface with a batch of cases

With just a few days left to MWC 2015 rumors are flying all over the place about the next batch of flagship devices. Samsung has definitely been stealing the spotlight with its much-anticipated Galaxy S6 and its edged variant, but HTC is also generating a lot of heat. Expectations are equally high for the HTC One (M9) handset, which is set to debut at the Barcelona venue.

Case manufacturers have been a plentiful source of renders and details of device appearance and dimensions and the One (M9) is no exception. Today brings a brand new set of cases for the yet to be announced smartphone along with a beautiful render of the device itself.

The four bumpers don't really reveal a lot about the new device, but seem to prove the camera and flash setup on the back that we have seen in previous leaks as well as the button position on the right side of the device. They are all up for preorder and will ship starting April 3, which might also give a rough indication of the phone's release.

A couple of days ago we reported on another more substantial leak for the One (M9) from an online listing. This brought a lot of new information about specs as well as device pictures in two colors. Looking at the front of these photo, alongside the Spigen renders we can't help but notice the difference camera position, but case makers are generally not provided with information outside basic dimensions and controls placements so the render is probably just an artistic decision.

As far as specs go the One (M9) should feature a 5-inch display 1080p display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3GB RAM, 32GB on-board storage and up to 128GB microSD expansion support. Measuring 9.61 mm thick, One (M9) will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7. In the front is a 4MP UltraPixel camera and at the back is a 20MP camera with dual-LED flash. HTC has packed 2,900mAh battery to power this smartphone.

However, none of this has been officially confirmed by HTC yet so we will just have to wait for March 1 and see what the Taiwanese manufacturer really has in store.

Sony Xperia E4G, conectividad 4G y una gran autonomía

Si hace solo una semana os hablábamos del nuevo gama baja de Sony, el Sony Xperia E4, un terminal muy contenido con una serie de detalles interesantes, esta vez nos toca hablar de otro terminal de la familia E de Sony, en concreto del nuevo Sony Xperia E4G, un terminal similar al anterior pero que en esta ocasión cuenta con conectividad 4G, por lo que principalmente se supone que contará con un nuevo procesador, diferente al MediaTeK del original.

Según podemos leer en Xataka Móvil el terminal contará con un procesador de 1,5 GHz y una pantalla de 5 pulgadas, un tamaño que poco a poco se está consolidando estos últimos meses en la gama baja y que poco a poco lo vemos como algo muy habitual sea cual sea el smartphone que vayamos a usar.

También contará con una batería de 2.300 mAh, para un terminal de 5 pulgadas parece algo justo, pero dependerá mucho de la resolución de la pantalla, el procesador que use y del usuario, además la conectividad 4G puede ahorrar algo de batería. Como punto extra contará con dos versiones diferentes, de una o dos SIMs, los Dual SIM cada vez aparecen más en nuestras vidas.

Estará disponible en el mes de abril en dos colores, negro y blanco, pero por ahora no se sabe a qué mercados llegará, lo que sí se conoce es la versión de Android con la que vendrá, en concreto Android 4.4.4 KitKat y el precio, 129 euros, para suponemos la versión de una sola SIM. Sin duda un precio muy contenido con el que Sony espera levantar un poco sus pésimos resultados con la gama Xperia en los últimos meses.

AT&T website confirms existence Galaxy S6 Edge, exact name

Yesterday we reported on a teaser for Samsung's upcoming curved S6 flagship. It was courtesy of AT&T and the telecom also promises a spring launch for the edged device.

This information was so exciting that apparently there was a little bit of extra information that we missed on that page. The page does in fact confirm that the much anticipated Samsung flagship will have a curved variant, but as it turns out also sheds some light on its name and proves that it will be offered alongside a classic flat version of the phone.

Said proof comes from the source code of the page which explicitly cites both Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge as keywords for SEO purposes. While this is in no way officially confirmed by the Korean giant it does come from quite a reputable source and in most likelihood is true. Bottom line is that Samsung has apparently decided to ditch the naming convention set by the Note Edge and include a model number in the mix.

This is a lot more convenient for continuing the Edge line in the future, but this all depends on the reception the S6 Edge receives after is launch, which is already set for March 1 at MWC. A previous leak confirmed that the S6 Edge will also be available on T-Mobile as well as Sprint in the US, but sadly no actual release date has been cited by either…

Motorola distribuye los kernel de Android 5.0 Lollipop de Moto X, G y E

El paso que Motorola ha dado hoy cos sus smartphone Moto X (2014), Moto G (2013 y 2014) y Moto E, es algo ya común entre la mayoría de fabricantes. La liberación de los kernel propios de cada terminal es una utilidad imprescindible para que desarrolladores de cualquier parte del mundo e interesados en estos terminales, puedan crear sus propias versiones de ROMs para que corran con mayores garantías en los terminales de turno.

Motorola ha decidido hoy mismo hacer esto con los dispositivos anteriormente citados. Para el Moto X 2014 la compañía ahora parte de Lenovo ha liberado la versión de kernel perteneciente para Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, aunque muchos terminales aún no han podido acualizar a la última versión. También han presentado un mismo archivo de kernels para los Moto G (2013 y 2014) y Moto E, según nos cuentan desde Android Police.

Y es que uno de los fabricantes que más ruido hizo en los cursos pasados, pese a haber lanzado ya su actualización para algunos de sus modelos, no había liberado esta herramienta, que si bien no involucra directamente a nosotros, los consumidores, si lo hace de forma indirecta al permitir que los desarrolladores puedan realizar de forma más completa su tarea para estos terminales.

HTC teases new BoomSound speakers for One (M9)

The new HTC One (M9) is barely a week away and according to rumors will bring a new speaker design, perhaps one based on the Nexus 9 speakers. HTC has started its teaser campaign with a short 12 second video that features stop-animated boom box.

The tweet reads "Get your hands on bigger boom," suggesting that the new speakers will be more powerful. Rumors claim that the HTC One (M9) speaker grill will be part of the protective glass over the screen, removing the black bar that made the previous One phones taller than phones with similarly-sized screens.

BQ presenta sus tres nuevos smartphones: Aquaris M5.5, M5 y M4.5

BQ se está consolidando como una de las mejores empresas españolas de dispositivos Android, algo que hoy podemos confirmar con la aparición de tres smartphones de la serie M que destaca por incorporar Android 5.0 Lollipop.

La nueva gama la integran 3 smartphones: Aquaris M4.5, M5 y M5.5. Tres terminales con pantallas IPS de 4,5 pulgadas, 5 y 5,5″. Según la propia BQ el objetivo de estos nuevos dispositivos es la ergonomía para lo cual se han reducido a la minima expresión sus marcos para así optimizar el espacio y conseguir unas dimensiones bien reducidas.

Los 3 modelos incluyen conectividad 4G y Android Lollipop, siendo esto último lo que puede ser una llamada de atención a los usuarios que quieran adquirir un teléfono interesante en características con todo el poder que ofrece la última versión del SO de Google.

En lo referente al hardware y poderío de sus procesadores, Aquaris M5 y M.5 posee un Snapdragon 615 Octa Core y una gráfica Adreno 405, mientras que el Aquaris M4.5 un chip Mediatek 6735 quad-core de 64 bits con gpu Mali 450 MP2. 2 GB de RAM para los modelos de mayor dimensiones y en lo que es el almacenamiento interno con 8 o 32 GB ampliable mediante el uso de una tarjeta micro SD.

No podemos olvidarnos de la cámara con una de 8 MP en el Aquaris M4.5 y de 13 MP para el M5 y M5.5. En la que es la frontal 5MP y flash para realizar las mejores selfis con estos tres interesantes dispositivos de BQ.
