LG’s rumored G3 Mini could be dubbed the G3S, according to a new leak from @evleaks. Reports of a G3 Mini have been floating around for a few weeks, but we have yet to see one become official. This new leak suggests that the name could the LG G3S and that the phone will feature a dual-SIM card slot. With dual-SIM support, the G3S is likely intended for countries where dual-SIM support is important, such as India and China.
Not much else is known about the device, but the picture to the right shows us a smaller version of the full-sized LG G3. Like most mini phones, the G3S will probably feature reduced specs and a lower price tag, making it popular in developing markets. Though we wouldn’t say no to more manufacturers taking a leaf out of Sony’s book and creating mini phones with the same specs as their larger counterparts.

Cómo muchos de vosotros ya sabréis, yo mismo soy usuario fiel de las Roms de Cyanogenmod que siempre llevo en mis terminales, ahora mismo en mi LG G2 internacional, y la verdad sea dicha, es que estoy la mar de contento con el rendimiento del dispositivo bajo estas customs roms que se actualizan de manera constante.
Con motivo del lanzamiento de la última rom estable en versión Android 4.4.4, la más conocida como versión Snapshoot M8 o simplemente M8, me he decidido a actualizar mi LG G2 mediante el actualizador automático del propio Cyanogen y al reiniciarse el dispositivo, me he encontrado con la desagradable sorpresa de que la aplicación o función esencial para controlar nuestro Android, la aplicación Ajustes, forzaba el cierre de manera constante imposibilitando su entrada en el menú de ajustes de nuestro Android. A continuación os explico la sencilla reparación simple que he tenido que realizar para conseguir solucionar el problema de cierre forzado de ajustes.
Para solucionar el problema de cierre forzado de ajustes tras actualizar tu rom Cyanogenmod, es tan simple como mantener pulsado el icono de ajustes y arrastrarlo hasta el cartelito de información de la aplicación.
Una vez allí tan solo deberemos borrar la cache y los datos de la aplicación clicando en los dos botones que aparecen sombreados, primero en Borrar Cache y seguidamente en Borrar Datos.
Salimos a la pantalla principal de nuestro Android, abrimos el cajón de aplicaciones y cuando cliquemos sobre la aplicación de Ajustes de nuestro Android ya deberíamos poder entrar con toda normalidad.
Ahora tan solo nos quedará que aplicar el tema que tuviésemos activado ya que en este proceso se habrá deshabilitado.

Hace poco rato se ha conocido que está disponible la primera ROM personalizada para el LG G Watch. Todo un récord el que esté ya la primera ROM para este nuevo smartwatch de LG bajo Android Wear. Entre las características que trae, aparece una mejora en el rendimiento general del reloj inteligente, mejoras en la vibración y las transiciones entre las tarjetas, contando con que también se disminuye el consumo de batería del wearable. Así que estamos ante una gran ROM por lo que podemos ver de ella.
Hay que tener en cuenta que tengáis instalada la ROM perderéis la garantía. De todas maneras se puede volver a tener el reloj tal como estaba cuando lo encendisteis por primera vez, y lo único que si tenemos que recordaros, es que hay que tener el bootloader desbloqueado para poder flashear esta primera ROM de Android Wear en vuestro recién adquirido LG G Watch.

Hace apenas un momento que me he enterado gracias a mi amigo y compañero Manuel Ramirez, que el teclado de Android L que subió al Play Store un desarrollador independiente de XDA, un tal Shen Ye, ha sido retirado sin motivos aparentes de la citada tienda de aplicaciones para Android.
Cómo yo mismo lo tengo instalado en mi propio terminal Android, me he decidido a subir el apk directamente a la nube para que todo aquel que lo deseé, pueda descargar el teclado Android L retirado del Play Store e instalarlo en su dispositivo Android compatible.
Supuestamente, la aplicación ha sido retirada del Play Store por infringir las leyes de propiedad intelectual al subirlo a la tienda de aplicaciones de Android sin el explícito consentimiento de Google, y es que tenemos que recordar que este teclado Android L es propiedad exclusiva de la multinacional con sede en Mountain View.
De todas maneras. como os digo, podéis descargar el teclado Android L directamente en apk para una instalación manual en dispositivos NO ROOT desde este mismo enlace. Para instalarlo bastará con clicar sobre él, aunque antes deberemos tener habilitados los permisos para poder instalar y ejecutar aplicaciones de orígenes desconocidos.
Todo aquel que disponga de un terminal Nexus o con Android puro como los llamados Google Edition, o terminales con Roms modificadas AOPS, deberán tener permisos de superusuario para poder instalar esta aplicación ya que el teclado original de Google, es una aplicación considerada de sistema para este tipo de terminales Android. Para todos los demás bastará con clicar para ejecutar el apk y llamar al instalador de paquetes de Android que se encargará de realizar la instalación automática del APK.

Yep. You read that right. ZTE and Sprint are joining forces to bring the world its first mini projector/mobile hotspot. Evleaks leaked this interesting device last week and now it’s official. Complete with an overly dramatic press release, ZTE is really coming out with the Swiss Army Knife of mobile hotspots. Here’s what the Sprint LivePro can do:
The Sprint LivePro measures 4.7″ x 4.7″ and is 1.1″ thick, making it easily portable. It features an embedded speaker providing audio during video or presentations and can also hook up to separate speakers via Bluetooth or attached to the device with a 3.5mm jack. Additionally, users can share content using HDMI or USB cables, or wirelessly mirror a smartphone or tablet display using Wi-Fi Miracast. Through the Wi-Fi connection, users can also pull content from the cloud directly from the device and stream video and audio content easily with a Wi-Fi connection or data plan. Files can be shared and stored on LivePro using Bluetooth or either an an HDMI or USB cable.

HTC fans in India may soon be able to get their hands on the HTC One (E8). HTC India has invited the press to attend a launch event on Friday, July 11 in New Delhi. While the HTC One (E8) isn’t specifically mentioned, we have a hard time imagining that HTC would send out invitations to the press so that they can get some quality hands-on time with the new HTC Desire 616.
The HTC One (E8) made its debut in China a little over a month ago as an alternative to the HTC One (M8) for those on a tighter budget. The HTC One (E8) loses the metal body of the One (M8) and the UltraPixel DuoCamera setup is replaced with a more traditional 13 megapixel rear camera – bringing the price of the phone down by over 40%. If HTC is able to get the HTC One (E8) in the hands of consumers in India more markets across Asia, the company may be able to boost its bottom line and pull off a profit in two consecutive quarters.

Una de las preguntas que tienen muchos usuarios de Android es que si realmente necesitan una app o servicio antivirus tal como si deben instalar en sus ordenadores de escritorio con Windows. Lo que queda muy claro es que aquellas empresas que crean este tipo de software responderán afirmativamente con un sí, mientras que Google ha mantenido desde hace algún tiempo que no se necesita realmente, al menos para la gran mayoría de usuarios.
Justo antes de que Google I/O tuviera lugar el mes pasado, Adrian Ludwig, ingeniero líder de seguridad para Android, mantuvo que el 99% de los usuarios Android simplemente no necesitan un software antivirus. Las palabras de Ludwig fueron estas mismas: “No pienso que el 99 por ciento de usuarios se beneficiarían de alguna forma de un antivirus. En la practica la mayoría de las personas nunca verán un daño potencialmente alto de sus datos“. La firma de seguridad Sophos desafía los comentarios de Ludwig citando ciertos riesgos como la app Virus Shield que más de 10000 usuarios instalaron exponiendo su dispositivo a malware.
Sophos mantiene que todo usuario debiera de instalar un antivirus en su terminal Android, para evitar posibles consecuencias, entrando aquí sus propios intereses ya que en la misma entrada de su blog desafiando al jefe de ingeniería de seguridad de Android, enlaza a la descarga de su propio software gratuito de Android.
Quién pueda tener razón, posiblemente no lo sabemos, pero si comparamos el caso de Android al de Windows, nos parecería extraño que apareciera alguien de Windows prometiéndole a sus usuarios que su sistema es totalmente seguro y que no hace falta un antivirus, cuando todos sabemos que Windows y un antivirus siempre tienen que ir de la mano.
Tampoco Ludwig se la va a jugar diciendo que el 99% de los usuarios no necesitan un antivirus, así que algo de verdad tendrán sus afirmaciones, y por la propia experiencia de los usuarios de este SO, si uno sigue el curso natural de instalar apps desde la Play Store, explorar web por sitios normales, la verdad es que pocos problemas podrá encontrar.
No tenemos que olvidar que al instalar un antivirus cargaremos al sistema con un proceso en segundo plano que estará escaneándolo cada dos por tres, con el consiguiente consumo de batería del terminal. Si no hacéis el cabra con vuestro Android, pensarlo bien antes de instalar un antivirus.
