
This Is Why Cars Use AC-Producing Alternators When They Run On DC Power
If everything in your car runs on 12 volts of DC current, why do carmakers no longer use generators, which produce rich, creamery DC electricity? Why would it make any sense to generate AC, and then have to convert it to DC?
