Yesterday in a ribbon cutting ceremony, Energy Secretary Moniz and New Mexico Governor Martinez formally re-opened the world’s only operating deep geologic nuclear waste repository, the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), located near Carlsbad, New Mexico, after clean-up of a minor leak in 2014.
