Sad thing I encountered playing Overwatch
Been playing a lot of Overwatch lately and trying to participate in the team chat more to encourage communication and strategy. Made a couple "friends" or whatever you'd like to call it and the topic of meeting people on games came up. These two kids that were playing mentioned that they have a couple friends going back several years that they met online. When asked where they met, they hesitantly said "sadly, it was Minecraft. But we don't talk about that."
This threw me off. "What's wrong with Minecraft?" I immediately asked.
"It's just kind of childish, you know" they reply.
I don't know about you guys, but I don't think Minecraft is childish. I'm going to be 25 in a couple weeks and I still have a Minecraft server for whenever my friends and I feel like playing.
I told them Minecraft is timeless like Lego and they shouldn't be ashamed of playing it. They didn't seem to agree.
It saddens me that such an amazing game has a reputation for being childish, even among children! I wish there were a way to reverse that stigma.
I've been playing since pre-alpha and it's easily my favorite game of all time. It's just weird to think that people that are probably half my age think I'm immature. That's probably why they can't vote or drive yet though!
