Is there anything you’ve spent hours doing in Minecraft to save yourself 10 seconds every so often?

Thought I'd ask as I spent far too long last night making a simple hopper-minecraft track under my chicken pen, with dropper tower, purely because I hate picking up b****y eggs.

… please tell me I'm not alone in doing these sorts of things? 😥
